Hello hello, nice to see old names you guys! :D

i have a question. I don't have to file to remove conditions untill next may, but the stamp(I-551) that i got in my passport after my interview is expired now. i am not really sure if i have to do anything about it, since i have a green card and can travel, but i am going back home again for christmas and therefore i don't want to have any problems with immigration. do i have to do anything to extend it or was it just a "temporary evidence of lawful admission"?

thanks for help,

simona

You wont have problems if you have your green card with you, the stamp in your passport is a temporary one until you get the actual card, then the stamp no longer matters.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

hi Simona!

The I-551 stamps are generally given for a period of time 'sufficient' to tide you over to your next official proof of status (green card). Usually this is onoe year or less. Those of you who came with an Immigrant Visa (IR/CR) notice that the visa was endorsed for one year validity (proof of status as a Permanent Resident).

No extension required for the stamp if you have a valid unexpired Green Card.
