Do drinks count?

The most "bizarre" thing I've ever drank was cashew feni, a spirit made by crushing cashew apples. It is only produced in the Indian state of Goa and not sold anywhere else.

I'm one up on Zimmern.....I can eat a Durian (The most foul smelling repulsive fruit I've ever came across) Andrew Zimmern can't eat it.....

I can eat durian also, as long as its not from my wife's home in Davao City. They have the worst smelling durian in the world, or the best depending on your point of view. Maybe eventually I'll be able to handle it there to.

Bulad or dried fish, is a common treat in our home. I love the stuff. The smell is horrible but it actually set my mouth watering now.

Yes balut is legal. I kind of wonder about the water bugs I see for sale in asian grocery stores, which are labeled as bait

Last time I was in Houston, I had a very good Tex-Mex/Desi fusion dish. I'm not sure what name they came up with but it essentially qeema, (which is a Desi minced meat dish, usually goat) made with a tikka gravy (tomato and cream based curry) blended with the goat meat to made a really delicious Desi style chili.

Here is what qeema looks like:

Oh jeez, the duckling embryo looks a little too daring for me. Everything else looks pretty good, though! Especially that soup.

Have you guys ever seen that show "No Reservations" hosted by Anthony Bourdain? Whenever he goes to any Asian countries it makes me want to take a vacation because all the soups and whatnot he eats look freaking amazing.

USC who lived in Manabí, Ecuador with hubby from 2009 - 2013. Hubby became a naturalized American citizen in August 2016. Currently living together in northern Virginia.

The duck embryo part is my favorite part. The white part though is like chewing an old worn out piece of sun bleached tire. My wife loves it though and it happy to take that part off my hands.

Also my wife is a master at making soups. She never can give me a name for them though, its all just soup to her and she'll just start throwing things together until it made.

Here's one she taught me to make though, an egg drop misua soup.

In Nigeria any wild meat is called bush meat. One of the common forms is the cane rat. Because they frequently serve it with head/feet/tail attached it can be a bit hard to get past ( although in meat pie it is ok )

This is cool....certified exotic.

Grilled locusts
