She likes sisig. I don't. But I do like monggo. And I want to try chicken feet, but won't do the chicken intestines or the balut. She said she really likes her filipino food, much better than American food. I haven't the heart to tell her she won't find any filipino food in truckstops in the US.

Whats some of the funkiest stuff you've eaten?

Introduction/ description/ pictures......

Well, I am Sicilian and we have many bizarre foods here, but I will show you the food which my American girlfriend disliked the most during her visit here:

- These are our common ground snails; we just fry them with olive oil and garlic and then we add a little of black pepper; they are as expensive as they are delicious, but if you know where to excavate you can have a prestigious and bizarre dish for free.

- These are the dried stomachs of the codfish... we basically fill them with a mix of breadcrumbs, olive oil, parsley, capers, parmesan cheese and then we roll them and cook with tomato sauce, olives, potatoes, and the result is shown in the second picture down (they are absolutely delicious):

post-216834-0-24256200-1441460031_thumb.jpg

- This one is the gut of a calf roasted on barbeque; we just roast it and add salt and lemon, it's tradiction to drink a strong red wine with it

post-216834-0-44803000-1441460064_thumb.jpg

- Mini fried octopuses; we recommend a huge iced beer with it

post-216834-0-91638100-1441460028_thumb.jpg

- This is basically a dough filled with curly lettuce, cheese and salted anchovies and then fully immersed in boiling oil and fried ; for my girlfriend this is bizarre because in her land they don't mix seafood with cheese, but here is so loved to do this.

Uhm what else...

I have eaten horse meat because here in some towns is commonly consumed (it's good but I prefer cow meat).

Then when we roast the lamb we always roast also its head and we eat the meat around the face, and the brain inside (I love it):

The other weird thing I ate is the roasted vag*na of the cow.... is gummy and honestly I disliked it
and the lung of the cow (the taste is more intensive than to eat a liver, just disgusting for me), and I also ate the heart which is very good, the tongue so so, and once I tasted the balls of the bull as well.

here is common to eat swordfish and all kinds of mollusc, but the most disgusting fish I ever ate is the Lizard Fish, it tastes soo bad:

A weird thing I ate in my girlfriend land is the alcapurria, basically it is a mashed plantain (a green banana) filled with crab meat or other type of meat and then fried (I love it):

We use (me rarely, just twice in my life) to eat pork blood in different ways:

the most bizarre one is mixed with cocoa, sugar and red wine (someone adds red hot chili) and when boiled it gets like a pudding (you can seriously confuse it for a normal pudding):

sanguinaccio2.jpg

The other way is just pork blood (sometimes also brain) mixed with nuts and pistachio put inside a bowel and then boiled:
