I guess I might be getting a little paranoid here but I'll soon be visiting my fiancè in the USA and I plan on staying there for about 80 days.

I haven't been to the US in 6 months and a half. Will that make me look bad or suspicious for spending so much time over there?

Also, last time I told to the US customs I was going to stay at my boyfriend's and we were planning to file for a K1 visa, but failed to, did they save that kind of info? I once got a secondary inspection for traveling back after 4 months, but I never overstayed or anything (I think 90 days is as much as I can spend there).

One last thing: if we do file for a K1, and I have an ESTA but not an I-94 can I just photocopy my ESTA + passport and send it with the rest of the documents?

Thank you for the attention and sorry for the rant.

You do not need details of ESTA for a K1.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm aware I don't need that, but once you travel with an ESTA you don't get a form I-94. So what's my answer going to be to question 12 on the form I-129F?

visitor-VWP (you can add your visa application number, this is what I did)

Don't write anything in the arrival/departure record (I-94) number.

I don't know if they keep records. Make sure you have a return ticket with you and that return date is highlighted so the customs officer can find it easily. Don't bring too many things with you. If you have to go through second control and you have 3 giangantic bags with you it will look suspicious (I have been sent through second control, just on bag, went fine... But I am pretty sure the only reason they sent me was to check how many bags I really had).

And please, breathe! Don't be stressed when you get to POE, just think of your fiancé. You are not doing anything illegal, you are just visiting someone you love, everything will be fine.

Last year I visited in January for a month. I was so stressed, I am pretty sure everyone could see it. (I had no job, no appartment, no nothing to tie me to France). I went throught secondary check (fortunatly I managed to calm down in the secondary check room, and it went very well). Then I visited again in April, for exactly 90 days, but I was totally relaxed, knowing that I could explain I had enough money to do it, no reason not to enjoy life after graduation etc. if I needed to. I was just so convinced I was in my good right that it couldn't look suspicious. The custom officer didn't ask me any in depth questions... even after I said I was staying for 90 days.

So don't worry, you'll be fine. Just take a deep breathe, think of how incredibly lucky you are to be in love, and you'll be fineyes.gif

Good luck in your visa journey!

From the day we sent I-129F to the day I recieved my K-1: Exactly 9 months
I am the benifeciary
