I'm confused at to what actually will happen to my applications. My husband and I are filing a concurrent I-130 and I-485 tomorrow. We'll send it to the address in Chicago.

What happens after that?

Our local district office is Boston. I'm getting confused as to where my applications will go from Chicago and where I should be checking to see processing times.

First you may want to read through the guide here in VJ to make sure you include all the forms needed.

I know that I have EVERYTHING that they have asked for, every form, every piece of supporting document. All boxes filed out. I've even added additional things that may not be needed, but might be asked for. Everything is signed. I have attached Letter providing information to explain things that need to be explained. This is one complete well organised package.

I've quadruple checked EVERTHING! Unless they want some additional information that is not listed as a requirement, I think we're good to go with the applications.

My medical appointment is tomorrow and Wed I can pick up the results and will be mailing in the package.

Your applications go to the Chicago Lockbox central mailing address and are dispersed to the NBC/Nat'l Benefits Center. They check everything for completeness and move it on to its next step. The EAD and AP are processed there and the I-130/I-485 are directed to your District Office to be put in the interview queue. Namechecks happen somewhere in there.

I think that's more or less right--your applications will be well traveled, at any rate.

You should watch the DO processing times for I-485, but also watch other users of your DO as the online times aren't necessarily accurate to a tee. They indicate the oldest case still in process.

Thank you, that helps a LOT. I couldn't figure our where the I-130 would be going. One more q....does the I-130 need to be approved prior to the AOS interview?

If you filed concurrently, I-130 is approved at your interview, same as I-485.
