In that case, a couple more months for I-130 approval.

Quite possibly. There are plenty of I-130s from June not approved yet at VSC.

USC should be priority not Nonimmigrants

Here is what Mr. President is up to. (USCIS note)

Interview Wait Times: We are surpassing the President’s goal of interviewing 80 percent of nonimmigrant visa applicants within three weeks of receipt of their application. Worldwide, consular officers are now interviewing 88 percent of applicants within three weeks, compared to 57 percent in July 2011. In China, we have kept wait times to an average of five days in 2012 while managing a 37 percent increase in visa demand. In Brazil, we have brought wait times down by 98 percent to just two days, while also managing a 37 percent jump in demand.

We have to wait months and months and look at them. EASY for them and HARD for Us, why? Just because we are USC?

Agreed. The non-immigrant visas are about work programs and students coming to study and applications such as that. I doubt they're even handled by the same people as the immigrant visas.

But it's also about visiting visas.

If it took 8 months to get a travel visa to the US, no one would travel here and then where would our tourism be? in the hole.

100% bang on, KDH. I almost always forget about tourist visas. I am fortunate enough to come from a country that doesn't require a visa to visit the US but because of that I forget about the fact that most people would have to get a visa first before coming.

It's absolutely ridiculous how long it's taking VSC to process July petitions. Check out the graph to the right of Igor's list. It's like July is in a black hole. My question is: why bother transferring applications received after August 15 by VSC to another service center if VSC isn't going to go through what they're left with any faster?!

EXACTLY!! They should have just not relieved them. Or they should have focused on completing the I-130s they had left after sending all of those Aug 15th and later to NBC and field offices! Doesn't make any sense.

Got our NOA2 approval on 3/8! Seems like VSC is crankin' 'em out these days. Overwork for them is good news for us!
