Hi all!

I'm about to put my initial K1 Visa packet together to submit to the Dallas Lockbox. I'm looking for examples of what people used...like binders, folders, tabs, bags for pictures, etc....any help would be great! Thanks

Cover letter which lists the various attachments, list from the VJ Guides.

Paper clips and binder clips.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

Paper clips.

Mike, I have several acquaintances that work at VSC. When your package arrives in the mail room it is immediately (or relatively immediately) dismantled. Entirely dismantled from ANY way you assembled it. It is placed in USCIS folders in the way THEY want. When it leaves the mail room in a sealed box, not to be opened for some months until it is adjudicated...it looks exactly like every other petition in that box.

Your binders, Acco clips, and even the plastic bags for the photos go in the trash or recycle bin and never make it past the mail room. The adjudicators never see it.

Anyone who has received a "rejected" petition" for lack of signature or wrong amount on the check will tell you...their petition came back without all the foo-for-ah they had included.

Assemble the information they need, put it in a neat stack, and slide it into an envelope. Done

Make sure you provide what they NEED. 8 pounds of stuff they do not need will not make up for ONE item they DO need.

For the Petition you are documenting...

1. You are a US citizen

2. You and your fiancee are able and willing to marry each other within 90 days of her arrival.

3. You have met in person 1 time within the 2 years prior to filing the petition.

4. A G-325a for both of you

5. 1 passport type photo from each of you

3000 emails and skype screen shots and $94,000 in phone bills, prove NONE of that. That stuff is put to the back of the folder and never looked at.

You need to provide a copy of your birth certificate OR passport OR citizenship certificate. Any ONE of those is as good as the other, there is NO preference.

You need to provide letters of intent from BOTH of you. The VJ sample is perfect. Add your names to the sample, print them and sign them. You also need to attach any previous divorce certificates from ANY and ALL divorces. Your fiancee needs to attach marriage and divorce certificates IF her name has changed. If her name never changed then a divorce certificate is fine. If neither of you were previously married, then letters of intent alone are fine.

ALL documents must be English or with a translation.

Provide evidence you have met in person. I sent ONE photo. I also sent copies of passport stamps and boarding passes from the trip where I met Alla by chance.

It really is that simple. Your answer to question 18 should be able to fit in the box provided. Mine was two sentences

Anything else is fluff. Keep it for the interview where you must show proof of relationship.

VERMONT! I Reject Your Reality...and Substitute My Own!

When my husband and I sent both of my packages (K1 & AoS) we used a white 3 rings binder and plastic sheets. We created some sort of "book" with index include it so you can search any document and found it easily. We avoid any kind of paper clips and staples. We put basic some basic info. Some people told that I was wasting time and money but we dont have any kind of regrets, for me, having a well organized and neat package was pretty important instead of sending a stack of papers

It doesn't matter what you put your package into, they put every case in their own formated file. Just be sure that everythin is in the right order, donc stapple anything (it would just make them waste time removing the stapples). You can use binders.

Good luck in your visa journey!

Good Luck to you too His karma! I'm very excited knowing my girl could possibly be here in the States by the end of this year to spend Christmas and New Years together.

Don't count on it. You may get dissapointed.. I thought this in February 2012 about December 2012 and they aren't coming until April.. But, there IS a possibility. Good luck!

I agree. I like the idea of the big metal clamp. I use those at work on my government job all the time. If I were to receive something like that, I might actually try to process it faster!

nictillster I have read all I can...I found the K1 Guide but it doesn't state to use a folder or a binder just to put pictures in a plastic bag and where to put the cover letter and 1145 form....So I'm trying to get some ideas as how people submitted theirs. I want mine to look nice and professional and not like a 2 year old through it together

I used www.rapidvisa.com

mike remember the cover sheet and keep this held together with paper clips not staple or use hole punch and make sure when mailing make sure they sign for it

MAKE COPIES FOR YOURSLEF ( as we know things tend to get lost/mixed up with other forms later )

Thanks all for the responses! A lot of helpful information. It looks like paper clips and a yellow envelope is it! I'm sure I'll have a ton more questions once I get my NOA's. Thanks again!!!

Mike, check out a web site called RAPID VISA. To me, it was worth paying them for their help. They broke down the process, seemed to make it much easier. More step by step. Good luck,....have some patience, you will need it)))0.....Nate
