HI Everyone

I am almost ready to send i-130and i-485 package, and have a few more questions.

1. I had a misdemeanor ticket about four years ago and am waiting for a certified court copy to arrive.

but I can access my case online and print the copy from there. I don't know how long it will take to receive the court certified copy, and am wondering whether I should just send the copy that I can print online even though it will not be certified. (maybe I can bring a certified copy to the interview?) and Do I need to write an explanation letter?

2. My husband has been a dependent of his mother until last year, and therefore has no tax return. He started working full time last July, and I have his w-2 form.( and he will file his tax return this year) My mother-in-law will be a joint sponsor but I am a little worried about the fact that her gross income from last year exceeds the 125% poverty line only slightly, and the store she used to work closed recently, and I am not sure whether she will be able to find a new job any time soon, considering this economy). would that be a big problem? My husband is also working only part time because he started going school this year.

Would it help to send my husband's w-2 form with the explanation of why he has not filed any tax return yet?

Would it help if I asked my relatives(in home country) to send me money so that I can put the money in my bank account and show it as my asset?

3. I am getting one affidavit letter from my friend, but I read one post that says I need three letters of affidavit and the letters must be accompanied by the copy of their citizenship or LPR card. is that true?

4. I have been living together with my husband for almost 3 years, but I don't have any utility bill under my name since I don't have a social security number or credit. many people say that I should send the copies of utility bill coming for both of us and I don't know what to do. I am wondering how other people(w/o social number) have managed to do that. Should I include something like a copy of my bank statement(which has our address on it)?

it seemed not so complicated in the beginning but I am getting worried more and more as I read posts from others.

please help! thank you!

It never hurts to ask, call either your electricity or gas company, or have your spouse call and ask them if your name can be added on the account as well as appear on the bill. I called on electricity and gas company, I was kind of shocked, they didn't question or even ask for ss #, as well on one of our credit cards. Also, life insurance - your name can be added as the beneficiary, car insurance (if you don't drive they'll just list your name.

We used to live in an apartment but now we are living at a house with landlord's family upstairs,

and we don't get to have our own separate utility bill. The landlord tells us how much is allocated to us each month.(there are two other households living in this house).

but, thanks anyway. I guess I should have done it while we were living at an apartment. =(

and I will definitely look into life insurance thing.
