Part C question 1 is only for people in the Armed Forces serving overseas. So, I only left that part blank. But Part C Question 2, I did check NO. I don't know if they'll send it back or if you'll get an RFE--but that question seems to be important as it has to do with crimes...

The time-proven successful method is to carefully follow the printed instructions for Form I-129F, General Instructions, Step 1, #3:

Answer all questions fully and accurately. State that an item that is not applicable with "(N/A)." If the answer is none, write "(none)."

http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-129finstr.pdf

Difficult to say if this will present a problem for you. If is does result in an RFE, that would be a quick and easy resolution.

Good luck.

Completed: K1/K2 (271 days) - AOS/EAD/AP (134 days) - ROC (279 days)

I was reading the question and thought that you should respond only if you are in the military. I guess we'll wait and see.

I left Part C blank last year because I had never been in the military. Unfortunately, it had to be filled out regardless whether you had been in the military or not. USCIS didn't catch the error before approving and sending my petition to NVC, so my approved petition was returned 3 weeks to USCIS. Here is the RFE that I received (took 6 months for me to get ... petition somehow got lost when it was returned to USCIS):

"The petitioner's I-129F was returned by the American Embassy on October 4, 2011. The USCIS California Service Center approved the petition in error. The form was not properly completed. No response was provided to page 3, Part C, questions 1, 2 and 3.

OMITTED ITEMS: Complete item(s) circled in red on the attached copy of the petition. If any item does not apply, please write "NONE". N/A is not an appropriate response. If the item applies, please read and comply with the instructions below"

It's an easy error to correct and won't take much time, IF you receive an RFE in a timely manner. Good luck.

Ok you have some time until your case gets looked at by an adjudicator. I suggest not thinking about it until you hear anything from USCIS. It will drive you crazy and its very much out of your control until then too.

I am not in the military so Ileft this part blank when I submitted my application. I'm hoping this will not cause me to get an RFE.

Follow the Example Forms

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!
