The Israeli physician was pretty clear that there was no sign of torture or physical injuries and the Palestinian doctor towed the party line. Seems someone's anxious to dismiss the clear statement regarding the only external injuries found being those caused by attempts to resuscitate the guy and ignore the rest, especially the one about the autopsy not being finalized in regards to finding the cause of death, and conclude 'Palestinian sh*t don't stink.'

Riiight. Of course the best way to resuscitate a person is by having a Shin Bet thug stomp on his chest

And of course no one could accuse the Israeli doctor of doing such a thing as toeing a party line

And of course no one could accuse you of being "anxious" to dismiss things like the clear statement from the Palestinian physician - or any evidence at all that implies a narrative other than "Israeli sh!t don't stink"

So... did you look at the picture of the deceased yet ?

Some people are in total denial about what happens to Palestinians inside Israeli prisons.

The Defense Ministry a few days ago gave NIS 2.4 million to 28 Palestinians who were tortured by the Israel Defense Forces and the Shin Bet security service. The payment was made after an out-of-court settlement was reached with the plaintiffs, who agreed that suits brought to the Tel Aviv Magistrate and District courts would be turned down.

One of the plaintiffs, Benan Oudeh, 31, of Qalqilya, arrested a few years ago for throwing stones, told Haaretz yesterday that his testicles were beaten so badly in the interrogation room that they had to be amputated.

...

Another plaintiff, Hassin Zid from Qalqilya, who was arrested at age 17 on suspicion of throwing a Molotov cocktail said he was handcuffed, sprayed with tear gas, tied from the ceiling and beaten with clubs and a water pipe.

http://www.haaretz.com/print-edition/news/out-of-court-deal-awards-palestinians-nis-2-4-million-1.178925

Of course beating is not the only method used by Israeli interrogators:

'Abd al-Samad Harizat, a 30-year-old computer expert who worked for the al-Bunyan Centre in Hebron, was arrested from his home in Hebron during the night of 21 to 22 April 1995. Around 6pm on 22 April he was taken to hospital in a coma. He died on 25 April 1995 without regaining consciousness.

...

He appears to have been taken to Hebron Police Station and then transferred almost immediately to the Moscobiyyah Detention Centre in Jerusalem. The Moscobiyyah Detention Centre has, for years, been cited as a place in which detainees have been subjected to systematic torture or ill-treatment, including a combination of hooding, beatings, shaking, prolonged sleep deprivation while standing or sitting in painful positions and other methods.

...

Two Israeli forensic pathologists conducted the autopsy on 'Abd al-Samad Harizat on 27 April 1995. Professor Derrick Pounder, Professor of Forensic Pathology at Dundee University in Scotland, observed the autopsy on behalf of the family. None of the forensic pathologists were permitted to visit the site of 'Abd al-Samad Harizat's interrogation and no information was given them before the autopsy "for reasons of security".

According to the report...

"The bruises to the front of the upper chest are consistent with repeated blows, possibly in association with shaking while gripping the clothing, or alternatively forceful gripping. The pattern of injuries to the upper chest and the presence of the sub-dural haemorrhage taken together suggests that the method of injury was violent shaking".

I was talking about the family too, which was granted unusual entry permits into Israel so they can be there during the autopsy.

Also, I've already proven many times and not just in this forum that I don't think that everything Israel does is right, in fact I have a problem with alot of things, including many internal policies(which is why I voted for Lapid in the last elections and would never dream of voting for Bibi). I form my opinion based on what I see, based on my own common sense, after looking at both sides. And who I accused of lying was anyone that in the past few days(such as PA officials, etc) tried to incite people into being violent based on something they have no evidence of as of yet. Nothing would happen if people waited for the facts, and for conclusions, a few more days, or even weeks, till everything was thoroughly checked. But nooooo...lets all jump on the bandwagon.

Who are you accusing of lying ? Are you trying to claim that Israel doesn't torture prisoners ? Because it does, routinely, and it's already admitted it, and it's already even "legalized" it.

Average Israelis are either blind to the facts - or, if they don't fit the paradigm of "Israeli sh!te don't stink !" are willfully ignored.

"Them all" ? From my understanding, one Palestinian physician was in attendance at the autopsy. But I guess one person could be considered a huge Palestinian presence, as it's indeed very unusual for Israel to invite a Palestinian physician to an autopsy of a Palestinian prisoner who died in Israeli custody. I will reserve my comment on Israel's possible motivation to break its customary procedure for that... for now.

However, the Israeli physician in attendance did not uphold Israel's official claim that Jaradat died of a heart attack - in fact, the Israeli physician gives no reason for death.

Look at the pic of the deceased's face here (it's from his funeral, so not a blood-covered gruesome pic.) There are visible signs of the beating he was subjected to - look at his forehead, eyes and cheekbones:

No, Jaradat's family was not present during the autopsy. (That would be something most families would not want to be present for, under any circumstances.) Members of his family were given permits to travel to Tel Aviv to identify his remains at Abu Kabir (the Israeli forensics facility) and claim his body after the autopsy was completed, to take it home for the funeral. Only one Palestinian pathologist attended the autopsy, which was performed by Israeli physicians. The Israeli Justice Ministry issued a statement which made the claim about wounds being caused by resuscitation, but also stated that "initial findings cannot determine the cause of death." Israel's official autopsy report is supposed to be out in 2 weeks, which will then be sent to Israel's international criminal investigation unit.

So once again, we have Israel (the accused) investigating itself.

With Israel holding so many Palestinians in its prisons - maybe 5000 of them on any given day - and with more than a hundred held without any charges for indefinite periods of "administrative detention" - many are calling for an international investigation of Israel's security service and its treatment of Palestinian prisoners.

It's coming from Israelis, of course. Anything else would be biased and one-sided.

Things getting very tense in the West Bank right now...

About 10,000 people showed up for Jaradat's funeral procession in his home village near Hebron.... also mass protests in front of Ofer prison (Israel's prison in the West Bank near Ramallah); several wounded by IDF fire (likely rubber bullets.) Almost 7pm now West Bank time...
