Family support while in the states

I am just wondering how often do people here call home or get calls from their family, namely parents, brothers and sisters.

Is it normal not to talk that much to your brothers and sisters over an 8 month period. Chatting on MSN doesnt count.

I am just slightly annoyed because i got my greencard on friday and not one of my family has rang to congratulate me yet. I rang my parents yesterday and told them so i am sure everyone else knows by now.

I'm talking to my parents about once a week or sometimes only every other week. I haven't heard from my brother since September and it would scare me if he suddenly called (he's not exactly a chatty person). My grandparents call like once every other month and that is about it. I don't miss my family too much, yet, I know about things that are going on today. It works for us, some people need a little more contact to home.

We call home at least three or four times a week...sometimes they call us. Depends I guess.

That's a good point. Perhaps they're not calling due to the cost of the telephone call, figuring, "We already talked today."

She is doing somewhat better. She had an ultrasound which was useless but is going for some more invasive testing this week. Thanks for asking.

Tim's father didn't even call when he lived a mile from him, nothing has changed being 4k miles away. My family loves him enough to make up for it though, I am thankful he fits in so well.
