Hi everyone.

(1) Im been reading on here and now im confused lol. Does my wife need to get the police clearence for up coming interview in maiden name or now married name like it is on her new passport and her cedular but cedular has the same ID number?

(2) Also does the ds230 need to match exactley as passport? The ds230 has been filled out in her married name but here in DR the added her miden name with mine together, but the ds230 just has my last name not her maiden name along with mine?

Thanks for your advice..

Hi there!

I actually called the NVC about this a few days back (any of the Higher Ranked Awesome Visa Knowledge Extraordinaires here, please correct me if I'm wrong).

For the purposes of names, the NVC will work with her name as it is on her passport. So, if she changed her name after you guys began this process she needs to send a copy of the new passport with her IV application form - the explanation the NVC operator gave me is that they use the name as in the passport (which has to match the DS-230) to issue the green card later on. If she changed her name on her cedula her police certificate will come out wit that name.

The DR and the US have different styles on married names. I'd suggest calling the NVC before you send anything.
