Jamie beat me to it..exactly what I was going to say. Foreign men *aren't* better than American men..I just happened to find one I liked better than any of the American men I had met so far...or thought I would ever find in the future that I would love as much. I think I was right... :) *Nothing* to do with him being from England whatsoever...in fact, we've often wished we had both been born in the same country, whichever one it was. Although, the accent *is* pretty great! ;) M.

I think this is what most of us have been trying to get across throughout the threads that have been started lately. I didn't go looking for a foreign man...I just happened to find one!

Are u trying to get another topic closed?

i wanted to comment on the last thread but it was closed before i could get around to it.

i found it funny how all the woman would respond that "i wasnt looking for an american man, but just found one" but the men always replyed...oh because she's beautiful.....good morals....etc.

as for me...when i was young i always had this idea i would marry a foreigner. of course i did have an american husband first and it didnt work out so i decided to go for my childhood dream and marry a foreigner so i went looking for one. i wasnt specificaly looking for an arab but after chatting with many different men on the internet thats the one i was most compatable with and the rest is history.

as for american men...there is nothing wrong with them in general but the ones i met were not looking for marriege. they have been thru it before and didnt want to do it again. i wanted to be married.

The only people who do that are the ones who are so broken from life that they have to feel superior in some way to someone, so what better way then to be all 'booyakashah! I didn't want your high maintennance azz anyways'

Yeh, right

Please keep in mind: I am only referring to those who need to put someone down to justify their choice...as if saying 'my fiance is everything to me' isn't enough ;)

My husband is superior in every way to every American man I ever met, which is why I married him and went through all the trouble and cost and what not to be with him. I don't have the ego to think my experience is so special that it is an indictment on all American men though -- I mean for christ sake, I have brothers who are American.

I think it's incorrect to state that ALL foreign men are better than ALL American men. You can't very well say ALL of any group of people is better (or worse) unless you've met (and in this case, dated) all of them.

Sure, I bet some American men are lousy, but then some are probably pretty great; likewise, I'll bet some foreign men are lousy and some are great. You don't know because you haven't met and dated all of them.

My fiancee is Canadian. Does this mean that ALL Canadian women are fantastic like her or that ALL American women are terrible? Of course not! It's an individual thing. Everyone's different.

I'm positive the reason you love your significant other has very little to do with their nationality. I can't imagine very many of you purposefully went "hunting" for a mate in other country. From what I can tell, you just happened to find someone and fall in love with them -- the fact that they're from another nation (and perhaps culture) is just how things worked out. I'd even bet that the majority of you probably wish your SO could be from your own country (or you from their country) in order to make getting together a lot easier.

So I think both genders are being unfair here. American men and women aren't any better or worse than any other country or culture's men and women. :)

American men suck.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."
