B1, B2, B1/B2 and other things

hi guys!

i/we are in need of your expertise regarding the tourist visa and ds160.

my mom is invited to attend a convention/seminar/annual meeting in philadelphia, pa.

it will be sponsored by her company.

on top of that, she can also bring the family with her (at least something like that).

based on her, she will be given some kind of certification by her company to present during the interview.

i know it will not play a big role and she will still have to prove her ties to our country which is the philippines.

so right now my mom, dad and youngest brother is going to apply for b-visa.

the first question i have is what kind of b-visa would my mom apply for? initially i thougt its the b1/b2 visa as she is there for the summit/convention thing and she'd like to see places too.

2nd, for my dad and brother would it be b1/b2 as well or b2 since technically they wouldnt be attending the summit.

3rd, for my dad and brother's ds160 forms, would i have to put in the company as well for identity reference? (we will be using it for my mom's). will that be an issue?

I would think that since her employer is sponsoring the seminar for her to attend, her employer should provide any and all documentation/evidence needed for the approval of the visas for her/your family. Try not to "overthink" this...
