My Case Status, I-485, NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER

I haven't got the actual NOA1 in the mail yet, but when I check the status of my I-485 online here's what I get:

"Acceptance

On February 19, 2013, your fingerprint fee was accepted and we have mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. Your case is being processed at our NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER location"

Does this mean that my case won't be forwarded to my local USCIS office (i.e. I won't have an interview)? Does anyone know how long it takes on average for the National Benefits Center to process AOS applications?

All AOS are processed at NBC but that doesn't mean you will not get an interview.. Some cases will be forwarded to their local USCIS center, some won't.. You will be notified if your case is transfered to CSC, that means you will not get an interview or you will be notified for an interview once your case is approve.. Expect your NOA in the mail and biometrics appointment..

Goodluck!

Thanks! But now I am a bit confused. I thought family-based I-485s were now being processed either at the NBC or at Field Offices due to workload of CSC.

http://www.visajourney.com/news/2012/09/30/workload-transfer-from-service-centers-to-field-operations/#more-509

Well, I guess I'll be noticed whenever they transfer my case (assuming they do), won't I?

I can't find the estimated time for adjudication at the NBC, does anyone have info on this?

Yes, you will be notified if they will transfer your case to CSC and that will not require an interview.. Keep checking your status online cause there were cases that people got denied of their AOS for failing to show up at their interview when infact they did not received any notice.. That way you can call them on the timeframe given if you did not received anything and it shows on USCIS website that they mailed you an interview notice.. I'm not sure where you can search of timeframes for AOS that are adjucated at NBC but if I were you it's better if your case is transfered at your local USCIS center, its quicker.. You will get your greencard within 3months from the date you submitted your application..

Not accurate. I-485s are no longer transferred to CSC. They either stay at NBC or are sent to the local field office.

If the application stays in NBC and won't tranfer to the Local Office Field does that mean no interview?

My I-485 was transferred to CSC that was in august 03 2012 and i'm still waiting on a decision

Cases filed after August either stay at NBC or get sent to your local field office, where you will get a notice for an interview. It appears to be a quicker process if your case gets sent to a local field office. NBC is taking longer than 6months to issue green card. I am a September filer and have not seen any VJ members who filed in September and their case stayed at NBC be adjudicated yet.

They all go to the NBC. It will either stay there and be processed without an interview, or it will be sent to your local office. If that happens, you will get a letter in the mail informing you of your upcoming interview. The online status updates may or may not let you know slightly ahead of receiving the letter in the mail if it is sent to your local office. The online status updates are not very reliable.

They are no longer transferring to CSC, everything stays at NBC (MSC) or you will get transferred to the local field office for your interview.

Initial Review

On August 4, 2014, we transferred your I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS, to your local USCIS Office for further processing. The new office has jurisdiction over your case and will send you a decision as soon as processing is complete or you will be notified if further information or action is needed. If you move, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address.

I got the notice after approved VAWA ( 23rd July) do you know what it means?

It was transfered to an officer in MO. I don't know what this means because my local office is MN.
