Ok so why does it say in the uscis processing time that they are processing jan 16, 2012 for the f2b????

USCIS is currently processing i-130 forms filed on January 16, 2012. They are just on the process of approving those i-130 forms, NOT the visa.

After approval from USCIS, the petition goes to the National Visa Center (NVC). The NVC is the one determining the movement and visa availability posted on the Visa Bulletin.

You have to wait for your priority date to become current in the Visa Bulletin in order to get an interview schedule at the US embassy.

How do you know they are processing I-130 forms from January 16th 2012? My wife filed for mine on the 27th of June 2012. So by calculations 6 months from now or so, I could get a decision if its being moved onto NVC? We are currently on Initial Review stage, I check everyday to see any action, I know it will take 2-3 years to move over to the states but just to know its moving makes a difference.

Thanks.
