Hi Folks,

Another step in reuniting with my beautiful wife! Just called NVC at 9PM and they told me my case was completed today (no rfe/checklist, Thank God!) and we should await our interview date in Abu Dhabi. Does anyone know how long it will take to get the interview date and possibly when will be the date? Good Luck to everyone who is waiting (compared to USCIS, NVC rocks!)

Thanks! Consider yourself very lucky indeed! I called NVC several times and was told they don't know...it depends on Abu Dhabi Embassy (where my wife will have her interview because there are no US embassies in Iran, of course!) So I emailed Abu Dhabi embassy and was told that it will take "several months"!

Several Months! We are really heart broken! After almost 1 year of waiting, it seems that we have more waiting than just a few weeks!

Hey Reza! Congrats man! Mobaraket bashe!

Reza I have a question since you are a fellow iranian about the NVC process.

I just got my NOA1. But I am gathering the documents needed for NVC stage so I have them ready. My question pertains to the IV packet.

It is asking for the original marriage certificate which is not a problem. However, it is asking for the original/certified copy of birth certificate which is a problem.

As you know it is impossible to send the original shenasnameh to the NVC because my wife will need it in her daily life until her interview and will probably need it to leave the country as well. Also DHL in Iran refuses to send original shenasnameh or cart-e-meli (national identification card) by courier service because it is such an important original document.

I am wondering what did you do at this stage? Did you send in a certified copy? Where can you get a certified copy of the shenasnameh in Iran?

Thanks

Hi Friend,

We decided to send her Shenasname (the original one). A certified copy has to be from the "issuing agency" which in this case is "sabte Ahvaal". Certified copy is basically "almosana".

Good luck!

No news.. 11 month waiting as of today :(

I can't believe it! At this point if it was me, I would consider moving to my wife living with her until we got approved. I know your husband came to visit you recently! I hope he is still with you there.

Well, there are a lot of things to consider.. We are living in the red zone here in the Philippines and my husband has 3 kids with her 1st wife( who died last 2008) and cant study here because of the kidnappings of foreigners that is happening here right now.. so he has to stay in the states for now, for his kids' benefit and schooling too..
