Canadian beneficiary has two DUIs

Hi everyone,

I am an American citizen and my husband is Canadian. We have been married since 2009. I just received the NOA1 for his I-130, and I plan to pursue an IR-1 visa for him.

I asked him if he has ever been charged with a crime before, and he said no. Then I said, "Never arrested? Never had a DUI?" because his aunt mentioned to me that he had a DUI when he was younger. He then admitted that he had two DUIs in Ontario at least seven years ago.

Is this going to cause problems later on in the process? Nobody was injured from his drunk driving, and he hasn't been in trouble since then. He has no problem crossing over the US border to come visit me.

I would try and show that he has rehabbed and that he is not drinking. That would be a start.
