I am a bit confused on these two above. Do I send the I-765 in with the packet for the I-485? That is an additional $380?

Yes you can file the I-765 with the I-485 and you don't have to add the 380 dollar fee. The total fee for AOS is 1070 dollars and that includes the employment and advanced parole application if you include that.
