First, I would like to thank the owner of this forum.

I am a green card holder with Family in the Philippines. We are now in the process on submitting an affidavit of support. I am currently living with my parents who petitioned me 4 years ago. My last years income was only $19,000. I have my wife and 5 children on my I-130 form. With the current guidelines, I will need at least $44,512 income (125% of $35,610 family of 7 for 2013) for my family to qualify. My parents are willing to help sign the affidavit. Their total income is around $40,000 this includes my parents SSI and my dad's salary. If my parent co-sign on my affidavit of support, does it pool our income together or do they need to have over $44,512 income?

In addition, I also have a sister (single) who lives with her boyfriend but still using my parent's address as her home address. She earns $36,000 last year.

What is the best way to fill-up my affidavit of support form?

Thanks!

However you choose to do it, just know that you and any co-sponsors will have to meet the 125% minimum to quality. And, you must also take into account and include the number of dependents your co-sponsor has into the total equation. The USCIS is strict on meeting the minimum income level.

Best of luck!

Thanks for the reply Carton025.

So, I just have to file I-864 and my parents file their own I-864? As I was reading more, I also saw about an I-864A if we need to combine our income. From what I understand, since my parents income alone is under the 125% guideline and my salary alone is also 125% guideline, that we need to combine our income together for my family to qualify because combining our income will get us past the 125% needed to qualify. Does this mean that I file an I-864 and my parent file the I-864A?

Or if we both file an I-864, will the immigration let me know if we still need to file the I-864A or do we get an automatic decline?

so many forms needed that it gets confusing.

Thanks!
