Police certificates

Hi VJ Family,

As we wait for our NOA2 (God willing things would get on smoothly), there are concerns I wish to seek answer from other members, to wit;

1. I'd been working out of my country (The Philippines) for the last 6 years now. Aside from securing police certificate here in Thailand,should I get a police certificate or renew my NBI from The Philippines? Is it possible though to assign someone to get those certificates in my behalf? Or should I go back home and secure them personally?

2. Kindly advise what is the difference between Form I-864EZ and I-864,from my husband's financial circumstance having met the minimum income requirement based on the I-864P,2012 HHS Poverty Guidelines. Further, which form best suits his stand?

Thank you lots and we appreciate all comments and assistance.

1. You need to get a copy of your NBI clearance. You can assign someone to get your finished certificate by giving them a letter of authorization to present to the NBI office you have used to to submit your form. You can check the Philippine Embassy in Thailand regarding how to process your NBI clearance without going home.

2. Form I-864EZ has a very small difference with I-864. The best suited form is determined by NVC. They will inform you or your spouse which form to be used.

At the top of the I-864EZ form are 3 questions. If the person filling that form out can answer yes to all 3 questions, then that form can be used.

Incorrect, see my explanation to the OP above. The NVC does not make any determination nor would they inform anyone as to which form to use.
