Greetings,

I am wondering if there's anyone from the Dominican Republic whose visa was approved and still waiting on package to arrive?

Visa approved 9 Jan 2013 and still have not received the packaged, called and they said to wait. I have not heard a package to take this long to be sent out.

Thank you.

Gracias.

Call again if you its taken too long. Call the courier that was supposed to pick visa up and find out. Is there a tracking system you can check online?

My fiance's visa was approved on January 16, 2013 and called Domex many times and nothing but then I called the embassy and we were put on administrative processing for 90 days, they will send us a notice and we need to respond within the 90 days, you should call them, their number is 1-877-804-5402 and get your credit card or debit card ready because they charge you $7.00 USD for the call.

Buena suerte!

Call the DOS (202-663-1225 option 1 then 0) they will be able to give you the same information as calling the number for the Embassy and it doesn't cost (if you are calling from the US). But if you were approved on 1/9 and have not received the visa yet, more than likely you were put in AP for one reason or another.

My Peoplesssss,

Greetings,

Thank you for your time, assistance and support.

I've called DoMEX and check the tracking number just about everyday, and I've also called the embassy and all they say is that it was approved, just waiting on the consular officer to prepare and send the package. I just sent them an email yesterday (I am the Agent they elected), but do not expect an answer until about Monday or something. They've not mentioned anything about AP. It's a little odd, they are my wife's parents - she petitioned for them, Parent's visas should not be taking this long after approval to received their visa packages.

I guess we have not choice but continue waiting. I am considering sending them to the Embassy so they can check in person (anyone tried this before. follow up on a case in person?).

I appreciate your inputs.

Best Regards,

I have heard of someone doing this but they just gave them the same information that was given over the phone. Have you tried calling DOS? All they need is the SDO# and the name and birth date of beneficiary and petitioner and they will let you know what is going on with the case. They can tell you if the visas have been printed, put in AP, or what ever the case may be.

Hey Reese1,

Thank you. I just called DoS about a minute ago. They stated the cases were under AP, weird though, parent of US Citizens, sure never expected this one to happen...well looks like we have not choice but to wait this out. Oh hey by the way, I greatly appreciate that number you provided, sure saved me at least 7 bucks...a huge potential savings as calls can add up (planning on calling at least once a week until the visas are processed)...thank you.

Does anyone have any idea how long this make take? Again, it's been about a month and a half.

The only thing missing was the medical (As I mentioned before), which was a mistake by the medical clinic that told her the results would be sent to the embassy, but never sent them, so she had to return to the clinic the next day after the visa appointment to collect and turn in to the embassy.

Thank you for your time and support.

You are more than welcome. Since there were documents that had to be turned in after the interview that is more than likely why they were put into AP. If that is the case it shouldn't be that much longer of a wait. Just keep calling DOS like you said checking at least once a week. Best of luck!

My Peoplesssss,

No new Updates...Here were are, still waiting....seriously, this AP BS is out of control, especially since everything had been turned in and seemed to be in order...ridiculous.

It's been 60 days and still waiting...*SIGH*...

Thanks.

Kel

Hey, unfortunately AP can take upto 90 days if not more :( My husband had his interview on Oct 4th 2012 which I was there with him. Everything went well atleast that's what we were told.. But for some unfortunate reason we were put in AP and it will be 5 months on March 9th since our case was open for investigation. I'm running out of patience :( This has been so stressful and frustrating for me but all I can do is wait and wait patiently...

So Goodluck!! Hope your case is resolved sooner than mine.

Did you hear back from the email you sent. I have the same case as you. I petitioned for my mother and I am a US citizen. My Appointment was on 3/1/13 and for some reason they wanted a copy of my husbands passport. My mother brought it back on the very next business day 3/4/13. Now my case is showing as Administrative Process. We paid Domex and the consulate has her passport. Called DoS and they said that they have everything they need just waiting for Consul to decide. Not sure what that means? Hope to hear from you about your case.

Thanks!

Borges,

Yes, I did hear back. Guess what??? The same BS they've been feeding me for the last 60 days. I hope they come through soon. I seriously doubt they're being fair in the process. What it seems to me (my opinion), is that this so call "Administrative Processing" (AP) is not really necessary for those cases missing certain documents and or should not be taking longer than 30 days max. They just let those cases sit there until they "feel" like getting to them - BS.

As for your case, I cannot even believe they asked for that...oh well, then again they are who they are and can ask or do whatever they feel like, unfortunate for us though...I know my cousin's wife's mom, she went to the interview and was told to provide DNA as maternity proof, they did, all good, then she was told they needed to investigate further and it's been over 5 months and they have not heard back from the embassy...ridiculous.

I hope everything works out well and soon for us. Hang in there. I think they are either really really hurting for staff, they just don't give a damn and or they're just lazy as hell.

Please keep me and VJers updated on your situation.

Thank you.

All,

Just wanted to update you on the status of this thread...

My in-laws just received their packages...good to go...just a few days short of the four-month mark...finally.

Just received an email from the courier...the embassy did not bother to update us of the status, this after numerous emails and follow ups from my end...anyhow, packages home at last...

Thank you.

Kel
