TFC is the Filipino Channel and GMA is the Kapuso Network- available through most cable and satellite systems.

Ah okay I'll ask her about that. I dont' carry cable or satelite - instead my TV is connected to the internet, but I'd be willing if that is what she really wanted. But I'm not sure, since she watches American television for the most part anyways (on her laptop).

There is some filipino content available on the internet, like the novelas and popular game shows, and I think both those networks are available in live streaming, probably for a monthly subscription.

We don't use cable or satellite either, everything we watch is off the net as well; Netflix, Vudu, Hulu

My wife does watch some Filipino TV shows on her computer.

Yeah, she is pretty saavy with her computer and getting content to watch. Of course much of it is probably illegal or at least would be here in the U.S. if she pulled up the same here lol.

Okay, we just got home to the US this week so things should be interesting here on out. I know we are wasteful here, and many in Philippines waste not one morsel of food. She cracked me up because she took the individually wrapped bread we got on airline flight but did not eat and put it in her bag. They are not sitting on the dinner room table. She was painfully watching me cutting the tops off strawberries because she thought I was cutting too much off. I told her that part is bitter and tough. I thought she would faint when I started cutting the pineapple up. Will this change?

In my experience that behavior will not change. My wife still is few careful about what goes in the garbage. She recycles everything she can and even converts old beverage containers into pen holders and flower pots.

What has really been difficult for her to adjust to has been serving sizes. She repeatedly tells me that a standard restaurant meal here could easily feed four people back home. She always brings leftovers home and sometimes we split a meal because the amount of food put on her plate makes her ill just thinking about eating it all.

This might change the first time you bring her to all you can eat crab legs... My wife can pit fown more crab than i can, its amazing to watch. Her othet favorite is T-bone steaks. She can eat $30 worth of steak from the butcher, suvks the bone dry.. I know I'm good on the grill and maraming masarap, but holy cow. Good thing I buy 1/2 cows from my friend... But, I love it and life is good.

Ah... AOS appointment... make that interview... they will separate you both and interview each of you. Ever watch the movie Green Card?

It was fun, we compared notes on the way home, after she was approved, good for a chuckle.

:D

I don't think I am in much danger of seeing that happen. My wife has a severe dislike for beef (the smell makes her stomach upset) and she has given up most seafood since I don't eat it though I always suggest she order it when it is on the menu. The only thing she really eats in excess is rice. She stops eating her ulam the moment she runs out of rice.

Same here. Clariz's favorite after she got here was grilled steak. She had snow crab legs this past weekend, now it is her favorite. Steak and crab legs this weekend it looks to be..........

They interviewed us at the same time. Usually they don't separate husband and wife unless there is an issue, like they suspect the marriage is for immigration purposes only. (Stokes interview) Edited by The Patriot

We were seperated in manila for the k-1 interview so it wouldn't surprise me. We really haven't got overly excited as we have already been to the PI on her AP and she is working already. But it will be nice to get it over with.. Hope there are no issues and I think I will wait to watch that movie until after, lol.

That is normal for the visa interview, not typical for the AOS interview. The AOS is a joint applicantion, while the visa is an individual application. There is a good chance you may not get an AOS interview at all - it depends on the office, and the luck of the draw. For our office in San Francisco, all the FilAm couples we met had to go to a joint interview.

You are the first couple I have heard of that were separated during your visa interview since you just stand at the windows together. The consuls didn't mind me being with my wife for her interview. We joked that they asked me more questions than her. I think the American consul was more interested in hearing about the surfing in my wife's home province than anything. :D

Really!? We both stood at the window during the interview with the CO. Hadn't ever heard from anyone at USEM that was pulled into offices and separated before. Interesting. I am sure you mentioned it before and I either missed it or forgot... ol' timers.... ;)
