hello everyone.

This is my first time to post something up in the Forum since my fiance is the one posting. anyway, I am about to have my interview on the 20th (gulp  ) and I am filing up the DS-156 form. Question #32 asks "Do You Intend To Work in The U.S.? (If YES, give the name and complete address of U.S employer.) Yes, I do plan to work in the U.S someday after everything is settled but is it ok if I check YES for now or just check NO because I can't even work for the first couple of months I am there? I'm just afraid to answer something wrong on these forms. :help::help:

THANK YOU :)

Dear lailee,

Can you see the "Example forms" option in the sub-menu at the top of this page? You'll find a model of a completed DS-156 form and you'll see that to question 32 you could answer "With work authorization, employer unknown". It's a very good formula.

There is no right or wrong way to answer that question. Keep in mind the form is used for all nonimmigrant visas. The question may not be as pertinent for a K-1 as opposed to another who has applied for a work visa etc. You can put yes without putting the name and address of employer.....a suitable answer perhaps could also be 'eventually' or 'once I am able to' etc. The conof is aware of the process you are going through and the difference with other types of nonimmigrant visas.

Good luck with your interview
