There are many horror stories about Filipino marriages, between Filipinos in the Philippines. My brother-in-law, the way my wife tells it, married young, to a useless witch, that gambles all day and sells the kids clothes. He is a work of art as well, six kids, and overstaying a work visa in the US, living with another woman. But his kids all have the latest i-Phones, so #######! Stories like that are universal, not just in the R.P.

That's why I wonder why so many have these ideas of perfect women based on where they grew up. They talk like the Philippines and the women there are all beautiful and perfect wives. Just pick the best looking one you find, and she'll keep your house perfect, give you sex when ever you feel want (guess they never heard of menstruation or cramps), cook your meals, treat you like a king and want nothing in return. Perfect little Stepford wives, a whole nation of them in fact, just waiting for you to walk into their lives and pick them. Hard to believe the line of bull some of those web sites put out there. Filipinos in general might have more defined and conservative rolls in marriage, but it hardly adds up to the myths about them. And forget the entire myth about submissive, my wife pretends to be that way on occasion, then we both laugh. If she were, I probably never would have fallen in love with her.

BTW My brother in law is not perfect either, who really is, but he deserved better than the woman he married. Still he picked her, married her, and he intends to stand by his vows and stay with her. Which is more than I would have done, I would have kicked her to the curb years ago.

That is the breed syndrome. Women who come from X are loyal, hard working, etc. Women who come from Y are feisty, sensual, and argumentative. Women who come from Z are controlling, lazy, and fat. So you shop around for the breed of woman you want by the traits you desire. Never mind giving them credit as being human beings or anything.

In this case, you really should not worry because your wife will probably be wise and sensible enough not to ask for things she knows you can't afford. Chances are she is not interested in those things anyway.

People are people, no matter where you go. Different cultures for sure, but people are quite similar no matter where they are from.
