Did the consulate tell you they would call you or email you? I think if you are checking the CEAC on a regular basis you should be ok. If you have a way to contact the consulate maybe try to let them know the situation and be sure to provide them with you email address so they have some way to contact you.

If someone else on the forum has a better idea please feel free to provide it because I truly do not know what else to tell you. I wish you the best of luck and hope everything with your family is ok.

for ap less than 6 months, embassy does not response to any inquiry but after 6 months they start to reponse ur inquiry

actually i read it was 60 days, maybe its different for each country, i don't know, but I would certainly call my local congressman way before 6 months. Just my 2 cents.

May God bless and keep you always~ May your wishes all come true~ May you always do for others~ And let others do for you~

May you build a ladder to the stars~ And climb on every rung~May you stay forever young

People who are under AP, hang in there. My under AP over 1 year and 4 months and finally the Investigators came to my wife's house on 5/21/2013. I am hoping to hear the decision by the end of June, 2013. Therefore, hang in there and do not loose the hope. Good luck

I need help as soon as possible. My husband's case has been in AP for now exactly one year. I was checking the CEAC website and the status has changed from Administrative Processing to Expiring Soon. The message below is as follows:

Section 203(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act requires that your registration be canceled and any petition approved on your behalf canceled, if you do not apply for your immigrant visa within one year of being advised to do so.

You were advised of this requirement over 1 year ago, but we have not received a response from you since then. As a result, your application for a visa has been canceled and any petition approved on your behalf has also been canceled.

Your application may be reinstated and any petition revalidated if, within one year, you can establish that your failure to pursue your immigrant visa application was due to circumstances beyond your control. Please provide a written statement to the Embassy or Consulate outlining the circumstances beyond your control and noting that you still wish to pursue this visa petition.

What am I supposed to do. I nor my husband have been contacted regarding this at all. He was not given any information about this during of after his interview.

Please help!!!

It says "Please provide a written statement to the Embassy or Consulate outlining the circumstances beyond your control and noting that you still wish to pursue this visa petition."

Contact your U.S. consulate.

I realize that but I was never given any notice in the first place. I have been in contact with the consulate several times in the past year so they should realize that I am interested in continuing witht his case, right? I have contacted my senator to contact them on my behalf concerning this but I guess I will begin writting a letter as well.

Yes, you should write an email to the consulate and tell them that you still want your case to be active.

Hi robert&thoung,

you said that the investigators came to your wife's house on 5/21/2013. I am just wondering what did they ask her ? did they contact any other member of her family during thier visit ? our AP is also over 17 months.

thanks

Its not true that they will refuse to answer your email inquiry if AP is less than 6 months, or less than 60 days. We inquired on our case before 60 day mark and they answered in 2 days and CEAC website updated for the day they responded. They do receive your inquiries by email so don't send more than one too often.

USCIS I-130 Petition for Spouse

September 2012: Filed from abroad to Chicago Lockbox

4 days later: NOA1, Routed to California Service Center

7 days later: Transferred because of new jurisdiction

5 days later: Case Status changed to: Under processing at USCIS office

NOA2 arrived 78 days after NOA1 :)

*I-130 Approval Notice hardcopy finally received in Pakistan, the only notice that arrived.
