AP status updated date

Hello my diear vjers,

Can someone please shed some light on what the ceac.state.gov status updated date changes mean?

I have been in AP for three weeks and my status updated date has changed today but still remains on AP.

So i have been wondering what does this mean? Are they working on my case? Is this a good sign?

That doesnt mean anything, I have been in AP since Feb 12. Yes over 1 year. Hang in there

Yes, they will update/change every week or once a month.

What country are you coming from? Just curious, my fiance and I are waiting for his to clear AP in Jamaica.

I am from Somalia but my process is taking place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia due to the lack of US Diplomatic Representation in my country.

Is it true the status should be updated once a month? My husband's case has not been updated since November 5, 2012. I call DOHS about twice a month and they never have any information for me and the embassy has not responded to my emails for 6 months.

Any information/advice would be great.

for ap less than 6 months,embassy does not response to any inquiry but after 6 months they start to reponse ur inquiry

Shuss its my own experince that i made a lot of iquiries but embassy did not response to me,and its clearly mention on embassy web that if ur ques answer is found in FAQ or if you r in ap for less than 6 months embassy will not be response you,i m in ap 10 months too

but shuss its realy sad that u dont get any response after 10 months,bcoz i get response each time i make inquiry and status date update on embassy response day

I am working with the embassy in Naples, Italy. During the first 4 months of AP they answered all of my inquires. In September they asked me to provide some extra information, Identification numbers, and since that time I receive an automated response from the embassy which does not even come close to answering my questions and it as if they do not know we have a case with them. The reply they send me is how to apply for a visa. Each time I email them I include my case number and my and my husband's date of birth.

I did see above though that someone said the embassy updates the case on CEAC every month, my husband's case has not been updated since November 5, 2012. This makes me worry. Also the embassy does not respond to my congressman's office either.

i think you are in pending ap,and will suggest that u or ur hubby should visit the embassy in personal.

And its not true that embassy update case every month as there are some ppl have same problems like you.

in january my case update five times in one week,and now stuck on 5 feb,i send an inquiry yesterday and hope will get response in two days.

If possible you or ur hubby should visit embassy in personal to know the real story of ur case.
