I was upset too that I didn't bring my marriage certificate. But then I was more upset at myself because I should have been more prepared and thought of it. The name on the biometrics notice and my name on my passport obviously didn't match, so I understand the fact that they wanted to see the marriage certificate as proof as name change.

I agree that it should be mentioned on the notice though. Tell her to relax, it's done now and was not so terrible to do. Being upset and frustrated is part of process!!

They had asked me too to remove my nose ring, luckily mine doesn't hurt so no bother at all for me. They should probably mention it in the letter, I did think about it and had my passport (just in case) and my military ID which has my married name.

Name changes always have to be documented. It is in the instructions and if her name ever changed before filing the I-129f you had to provide documentation of that with the petition...it is in the instructions. Even though the I-129f instructions do not call for the beneficiary's former marriage certificates (if any) it DOES call for documentation of any and all name changes.

Read carefully, interpret literally.

Sveta's frustration level is going to be very much lower if someone reads the instructions.

But let's face it, she was in AP for the visa because she did not bring what was in the instructions for her to bring,(I think you said that was "the lawyer's fault") her AOS has been delayed because no one read the instructions and told her NOT to leave the POE area without an I-94 and now you have an RFE for her AOS because the I-94 didn't match or some such (we really don't know because you never posted the RFE) You said that was the CPB's fault for not giving it to her. She was disappointed at the DMV because someone did not read the instructions. Which you then announced applied to everyone...it does not. Now she has this problem at the biometrics which should be three clicks easier than buying a loaf of bread.

As you are finding out, Ron, if ANY one makes a mistake in this process, you, them, ANYone, it becomes YOUR problem. Those people do not need a green card or a driver's license...Sveta does. Who cares more about Sveta than anyone else? Who will have to fix the problems? Doesn't it make sense to inform yourself and prevent problems?

Do you REALLY believe she is upset over removing her nose ring?

FWIW this is another reason Alla did not change her name until citizenship. ALL documents were in her maiden name until citizenship and now ALL documents are in her married name. Avoids tons of nonsense. No passport/green card name mixup.

There is a lot more to go in this process, it lasts more than 4 years and involves two more major steps, and lots of minor ones, along the way.

smiley they claim the flash of camera sometimes causes a flash back so go figure. also maybe since houston has so many illegals is extra reason for marriage record. also it was not the ins officer request it it was the security officer once the supervisor reviewed everything she stated no worries
