USCIS received our petition (I-130) on Valentines Day Feb. 14th (maybe this is a sign of good luck) and this morning have text and email stating has been transferred to National Benefits Center (MSC). I am seeing some members being approved somewhat fast here. Is there one service center faster than others? This is on the job training for me. Any input? Thanks guys.

That's typical. Nothing out of the ordinary here, neither good nor bad at this point.

I'm a dual US/Hungarian citizen (both by birth; Hungarian citizenship verification TBA), and my husband is a dual British/Irish citizen (by treaty) from Northern Ireland. We are atheists.

LATEST STEPS:

28 Jun 2013: POE Houston

08 Jul 2013: SSN received (at SSA office)

07 Aug 2013: Green Card received

27 Feb 2014: Whoa, life happened. Planning move "back home" together to Republic of Ireland by end of April.

29 Apr 2014: POE Dublin through Heathrow

15 May 2014: Received formal residency/work permission (GNIB card with Stamp 4, one year renewable) for the ROI

Neither good or bad. It just is.

The real question is where is your local field office?

Thanks again, KDH. I found the local office of us. But my husband is still trying to know when did they send our file to local office. Do you think a good idea to call local office directly or get infopass and ask about estimate time of approval. We are just only around 80 days but .....

I thought I responded to this but I don't see it.

So weird.

Anyways, ours was transferred in early january, so I don't see why you should do an infopass, but should def call.

First, you'll get a customer service rep.

Tell them over and over again that you need to speak with a tier 2 officer because you're pretty sure your petition was transferred to a field office and want confirmation on what day it was transferred.

They will probably all tell you that they aren't transferred, just stand your ground until you talk with a tier 2.

Insist that the tier 2 check just in case because "that is the new policy and you want to know what day it was transferred"

Because that's where they go.

Thank you. I only found last update in their website - Dec 19, 2012. NOA 1 - Nov 29, 2012

I should not be so worry for only 80+ days but my daughter of my house owner is coming back on end of June and she will take the place where I am renting now. This is my one and only concern.

Yes, you explained me already in somewhere but I am frustrated and think about other options. Thanks again, KDH.

http://dashboard.uscis.gov/

Your best processing time estimate will come from those on this board rather than statistics from November.

Dallas is not so fast, sorry.

Octobers still waiting for approvals.

I would just like to clarify that SOME cases that are sent to MSC (National Benefits Center or NBC) then get sent out to be processed by the field office which is local to the petitioner. KDH, for example, has her file waiting to be processed in Chicago as that is her local field office. Some cases, such as mine, stay at the National Benefits Center and are processed there. It seems to be rather random and many folks on VJ have been trying to find rhyme or reason to it but nobody has been able to since files started being handled this way a few months ago.

Wow. So there is really no way to figure out a guesstimation of a time frame.

Wow. So there is really no way to figure out a guesstimation of a time frame.

I also want to say even if you make an InfoPass appointment and talk to an IO there, they don't always give you the correct information. At my local office they told me that they are not processing I-130 petitions there. This is false. Members on VJ have been transferred to the Pitt office. I believe I was one of them because I had a miraculously short waiting time for my I-130. Shorter waiting times seem to be consistent with smaller offices and by small I mean lesser case loads. Smaller offices=faster I-130 turn around time. For example, Pitt only had about 300-400 I-130 petitions pending (according to USCIS) compared with Houston's 5,000-6,000.

Sending petitions to local offices is largely unfair but unfortunately nothing can be done about it until they make the decision to have I-130s sent back to Vermont and California.

I am the petitioner.
