Hi everyone,

As I am preparing to file I-864EZ, I have two questions.

1) -- In I-864EZ form, PART 4, question 16 asks the household size. I understand "do not count anyone twice" applies. 16a is pre-filled and it is 2. 16b is the space for spouse. I am sponsoring my wife so she is already counted in 16a. Should I put 1 in 16b and still count the total as 2 or leave 16b blank?

2) -- Am I right to think that if I meet the income guideline, all I need to submit with I-864EZ is the tax transcript (one page from IRS) for year 2005?

Thanks a lot for your help.

Understand, you don't count your wife twice, you are sponsoring and immigrant first and she is being counted there. You leave the spouse line blank.

The spouse line is used in cases where the spouse has already immigrated and you are now sponsoring someone else like a son, daughter, sister, brother, mother, or father.

Yes the instructions specify just tax transcript for past year, but also indicate that you can include a letter from employer, past 3 years transcripts, and pay stubs if you feel they will help.

Good luck!
