I feel like I've asked this before but can't find the post.

Could there plus be the option to remove the plus after you've added it? I misclicked the other day on a post I most definitely didn't want to +1 (many thank to my puppies).

I agree there should be a way to remove the +1 once you've clicked on it.

I also think if we can "upvote" posts, we should be able to downvote them as well.

The downvote was once allowed. Removed after it became a passive-aggressive way for many to gang up on unpopular posters. Is there any doubt Lincoln's Mullet would get the lion's share of downvotes in P&R? The RWNJ's have a mancrush on him unlike anything I've ever seen before. It will be a mauling.

As for removing the +1... I concur. Maybe give people the ability to take it back for as long as the commenter has the ability to edit?

The next updated software version of VJ is currently in the testing phase. This update does have the option to 'remove' a plus vote that has been given, at least in the testing phase. I am not sure if this function will remain in the fully 'realized' new release or not, but I suspect that it probably will. Captain Ewok is still working out the wrinkles but you can expect the new software update in the very near future:-).

If you give a plus on a post that is subsequently removed, does that still count against your daily + limit, or do you get it back since the post was deleted? Quite often it seems that some of the best posts are removed.

No, you wouldn't get a credit. While the post or thread looks like it has been removed, it actually is still there but it has just been made invisible, so the plus signs still apply to the post, even if you can't see it.

I don't know if this is the official way it is supposed to work - it worked differently in the beta trials - but if you have clicked on the plus sign and decide to change your mind, I've found that if I click on it again it shows up with a small box and my user name next to the plus one click. If I click on my name, it then takes me to my profile page. When I space back to the previous page using the back key in my browser, the plus check is no longer there. If I try to check it again, I get a message that says there is an error in processing your reputation key. Again, in testing all you needed to do was to click on the plus sign and it would remove your vote, but you can give this a try until it is fixed.
