September and October '12 were much different at the CSC. The workers there were on fire...turning approvals around in 3-4 months. Things have slowed quite a bit since then, so I wouldn't stress about 8 days.
Misha and Jeff - I looked at your timeline and there is nothing past November 16 - Are you still waiting or just haven't updated your timeline? - I hope it is not a sign that it takes that long once you get to NVC - 3 months since then - pls update us

Congratulations on at least getting an RFE! Sad but it's came down to this for all of us. At least you know it's being touched now. I'm still waiting done the service request and everything, still nothing. Just respond quickly and the way it looks you'll be approved very soon.

an RFE is BETTER than a denial..rejection. ;-) That's how we looked at it, when after waiting 6+ months an RFE was the update. it will most likely be something simple or a misunderstanding to put it nicely. Reply as fast as possible and provide ORIGINALS at all costs, to avoid any other delays. GOOD LUCK!!

That's because Michelle tested positive for TB bacteria in her lungs, so we are on the 6-month meds plan before she is cleared to travel.

We got notified through email and on the USCIS website saying that an RFE got sent out today.

We filed July 27, so at least we now know that our case has indeed been touched!!

Does this mean that this will kick things into high gear? And once we reply to the RFE that things will start rolling?!

My fiance and I both got quite excited mainly because we now know that they are indeed moving along!

We had a very easy RFE. My thinking was the same...... at least we know they're looking at it. We were approved a few weeks later. Good luck to you.

While yes, it does mean that your petition is in the adjudication process; it is now currently on hold, and likely in another pile, waiting for your response to the RFE. You should wait until you get the actual RFE letter, and then be prepared to fully, timely and accurately respond to the request. It may be something simple, or not, there is no way to fully determine with the actual letter. You can post the actual RFE letter contents (redacting personal information) on the forum, if you want to elicit discussion and comments from other forum members. The quicker you respond, the quicker your petition gets on down the line.

Hoping it is a minor delay on your immigration journey.

:thumbs:Again hurry up and wait.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

I filed July 24 and have heard nothing yet :( This is ridiculous! Do they let you know what the RFE is for or you find this out when your letter comes in the mail? I'm so nervous =/
