visit to USA with foreign girlfriend who already has tourist visa

Hello, I am a US citizen and have been living & working in Mexico for almost 2 years. In a few weeks, I am planning to visit my parents in the USA with my mexican girlfriend and her mom & sister for one week. They all have tourist visas, recently renewed, as well as new passports. They have been to the USA many times because they used to live near the border and have had tourist visas most of their lives. My girlfriend is self-employed and her sister works full time. We are finalizing the details to go ahead & get married during this trip, but we don't have it all lined out yet. I know it's not illegal to get married on a tourist visa, but I want to make sure we are not held back by customs at the airport. I have a valid Mexican work permit, though it's about to expire, and I will have to get it renewed after the trip for my final few months of work. Then, I have another job offer in another country. I have the contract but I cannot apply for the work visa quite yet. This is all to say, neither she nor I have any intent of staying in the USA, either on this trip or in the forseeable future.

Does it seem like the customs officer at the airport might be suspicious of her intentions? What type of documents can she or I provide to overcome any problems? We have no wish to lie or evade the custom officer's questions.

Thanks for the advice.

With a USC boyfriend she may come across concerns. She should travel with strong ties to Mexico. Does she have any work contract or rent/mortgage papers?

good luck

Their house is in the name of my girlfriend & her sister. I assume they have some type of mexican housing deed.

She does not have a work contract since she is self-employed. She has a verbal lease agreement for her office space, i.e. no written proof. She files taxes & could bring some sort of proof for that. She hasn't been making much money lately and has only been self-employed for about 8 months, for what it's worth.

It seems nearly certain that she will pass with no problems, but who knows....

Cheers.
