hands feet and other body parts totally not talking to each other. I'm 100% sure London will do better. I wouldn't worry about this old stuff anymore Nola. Don't waste your energy. Forward onto what London proposes to do! Look ahead!

I am truly relieved for the first time since we filed. I hope things continue to go well. We are just focusing on getting ready to move back and get all the paperwork together.

 That's really bizarre! A lot of couples file from abroad, but I've never heard of that happpening before. I wonder what they would've done if you'd be in South America? There are no DCF options down here to make up for their errors... It would've probably just fallen into a black hole. It's a bit creepy how much of a mess they made.

There is no DCF in Denmark either! I'm sure it would just bounce around until it hit an international field office who would fix it. I was told had it arrived in Denmark, they would have just called the London FIeld Office to fix the issue anyway. I have a feeling that is what Stockholm did when I emailed them about the situation. Even if the letter from Hartford was right, we wouldn't have qualified for DCF anyway as we hadn't lived abroad long enough at the date of filing. I can just hope that they've maybe retrained some of the staff or sent out a memo so it doesn't happen to anyone else.

Well, I am going to just put updates here because I don't really belong in the February or November filers threads and I don't want to make any of the February filers confused.

My express mail package was delivered this morning to London and I received an email that they are now processing it and will forward it to Stockholm when done.

Houston, we have a problem.

London is currently processing my new I-130.

Hartford has now been told by the Directorate of Field Operations that they have to adjudicate the I-130 and they've agreed to it.

Uhhhh?

Can't you cancel the old I-130? Or maybe you can call/email London and explain the problem? You'd think this would be an easier thing to fix between two offices than you trying to explain to one office what is happening at the other.

I did ask London what to do with the old I-130 and they did tell me nothing about a week ago. I am going to email them and explain the situation, but I hope that they choose to proceed with it rather than leave us in Hartford's hands.

The email from the Directorate on Monday sounded as though they were going to send it back to NBC. The one from Hartford via he Senator's office tonight made it very clear that Hartford is going to be in charge of adjudicating it. So, ummm, confusing much?

I am contacting you in regards to your inquiry on the I-130 petition filed for ***********. Our records indicate that the I-130 has not been approved. After further research we found out that the Department of State requires that all I-130 petitions where the petitioner lives aboard in a country without a USCIS office needs to file with USCIS. This I-130 petition will be adjudicated by our office. Once it is approved we will send it to the National Visa Center for further processing.

If you have any further questions or concerns please feel free to contact me.

"Further research" mmm-hmmm.

What I think? Do nothing. This petition still has to be approved by the Hartford office, sent back to NBC, THEN sent to NVC. At which time you'll probably already have your interview scheduled in Stockholm. You need an approved I-130 and you don't know what's going to happen with London, so you never know this might be a good back up plan. Let them both play out and see what happens. They shouldn't cross paths so the offices shouldn't be confusing each other if that's what you're worried about. Its obvious that Hartford has no idea what London is doing and vice versa. Just leave it be.

 Agreed. If you try to sort it out it might even backfire, knowing how these people work.

And now the race begins. I say do nothing till you hear about an approval. Just sit tight, aye?

I'm sitting tight, but I've already told the ombudsman about London and the Senator's office knows...so whatever they do with that information is out of my hands. The Field Office Directorate's person (who was contacted by the ombudsman) said that she would only have my I-130 processed once I gave her an updated AR-11. So maybe we can stall it long enough that London approves the second one?

We will be waiting to see.

what is ar-11?

Change of address form.

I think they just want it on record what my address should be.

Doing nothing might not be an option. The Directorate emailed me back.... it is fine to proceed with the I-130 at London, but if I don't submit an AR-11 Hartford will issue me an interview notice and failure to go will be my I-130 being denied.

I'm debating the merits of not submitting that AR-11 since I sent them a letter clearly stating that I am in Denmark. If they want to push the issue, let's see how far they are willing to take this notion.

I'm washing my hands of this. Let Hartford do as they please and the same for London.
