This is true - the letter they enclose also gives you the website to pay it on - by US bank account or credit card. I paid mine while I had the money.

After the move in May, we'll have spent almost $4,000:

i-130 $420

passport photos $30

police clearance certificate $25

birth certificate $10

AOS $88

IV $230

Flight to Montreal Free (thank you airmiles)

Hotel, food, taxis $1,000

Medical $271 (I needed the flu shot)

Greencard fee $165

U-Haul and gas (in May)$1600

  • Aug 13, 2012....Received IV bill by email
  • Nov 6, 2012......AOS & IV bills PAID
  • Dec 4, 2012......DS-260 submitted online
  • Dec 5, 2012......AOS package sent by email
  • Dec 5, 2012......DS-260 supporting pkg sent by email
  • Dec 25, 2012....NVC Case Complete Email at 4:04am Christmas morning!
  • Jan 10, 2013....Received Interview Letter
  • Feb 13, 2013....Medical at Medisys Montreal
  • Feb 19, 2013....Interview - Montreal Consulate - APPROVED!
  • Feb 28, 2013....Received Visa by Loomis Express biggrin.png

Your I-130 was approved in 109 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 333 days from your I-130 NOA1 date.
