Hi.

My husband freelances and he hopes to continue working for places in the UK after moving to the US on a K3 visa.

My questions are:

(1) Is this allowed?!?

(2) Has anyone done something similar?

If someone has experience with this, I would love to ask more specific questions about filling out forms and such, because we don't want to lie or make a mistake.

Thanks very much!

Kristina

My husband is self-employed too and intends to continue working for the same UK companies after he moves there on his IR-1 visa. But unfortunately we haven't looked very much into it yet so I don't know the answers to any of the paperwork questions.

We're going to contact an American accountant to ask about taxes etc, and which would be the best way to go. We're also going to investigate health insurance, since we'll have to pay that up front too.

Sorry I couldn't be much more helpful...

I think taxes are the main thing you have to be concerned with for an IR1 and CR1, where you are employed doesn't seem to be an issue. Not sure if the OP is going for the K-3 and that might make a difference on work authorization, hopefully someone else will come along that knows the answer.

Fatty try einsurance online, we got a fantastic deal on health insurance through them with Anthem. Tim's company gives him an added allowance for insurance a month as well, you might want to see if your husbands company will do the same.
