ds 230 part 1 questions

1) these documents are applications for my my wife and stepdaughter for whom im trying to get here? i am the usc,

2)Im a little confused about line 31a and 31b. My wife and her daughter will go the USA but it says who will accompany you (persons listed in line 14 and 29) I am listed in line 14 and my daughter is listed in line 29. Are they implying that I(USC) am trying to immigrate? or Im just going along for the airplane ride? Would if I'm just buying them a ticket and Im picking up at POE? not sure how to fill that line out.

3)Line 39, I the USC am the petitioner?

Can i fill out the applications and have hem sign or do they have to?

For your wife's DS-230:

1) Yes, it is a visa application form for the foreign beneficiary (Your wife)

2) In 14 it asks about spouses, in 29 it asks about children. 31a it is asking if either are accompanying you. (by you they mean the person filling out the DS-230, which is your wife). So 14 is you (the USC spouse). 29 is her child. So if her child is coming with her, than list the child in 31a. Don't worry about the spouse part. Keep in mind this form is used for all kinds of visas, not just marriage visas.

3) Yes that is you the USC.

Make sure she DOES NOT SIGN PART 2 until she is in front of the consular officer and asked to do so. They'll make her raise her right hand and all that.

Also, I take it your stepdaughter is not a USC? DId you file a separate I-130 for the child with USCIS at the beginning?

I'm not sure about the child. I'll let someone else answer that. I don't want to give you the wrong answer.

On the DS230 what is line 19, 20, 24 and 25 referring ..Is it the beneficiary's parents or the USC parents?
