Welcome to the forum.

Please provide more information so that people can try to help you.

How did you send your petition packet?

Have you gotten delivery confirmation from your courier service/postal service?

How did you pay?

Have you checked whether the funds have been withdrawn from your account?

Did yo include Form G-1145, E-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance, with your petition packet?

Have you gotten any email confirmation, etc. from USCIS?

Help us help you...

We hire an immigration lawyer and we passed all the necessary documents and we haven't got an email confirmation or text too. And when we ask the lawyer all he said is be patient...

:wow: It has been two months and your lawyer isn't able to give any more information….just be patient???

It is time for you to lean HARD on your "hired hand" immigration lawyer and determine the disposition of your petition application!

Has USCIS cashed your check?

Good luck!

And he said money matters to make the paper faster. How much do the immigration really collect for processing the k1 visa? He asked my bf $750 so that means its still not enough?

That's rubbish. Money makes no difference. They go through the petitions in the order they're recieved, and if some require more processing than others, they move to the next (RFEs, etc) while they process that petition. It's fair that way. You can't bribe the USCIS to make it happen faster by paying more money. Sounds like your lawyer trying to get more money out of you. Most people do it themselves. Easier that way and you know what's going on.

I would daresay that most folks get their initial Form I-797c (NOA1) Petition Acceptance notice before two months have elapsed. Are you sure that your attorney has filed your initial petition? Do you have documentation of that? Your attorney should now at least be able to give you your NOA1 receipt number.

It may be wise for you to get up to speed on the K-1 visa process. Here is a good starting point, the Department of State K-1 Fiance(e) Nonimmigrant VISA FAQs:

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_2994.html

From there you can find links to other sites for information about fees, etc.

The forum GUIDES, accessed at the top of the forum page, are also an excellent source of information of the visa process.

Good luck.

Sorry for the mistake i mean " how much do the immigration lawyer should paid for filing the k1 visa he asked us $750 for his service but as he said money matters if we want our spplication to get faster... So we feel we only paid him too little thats why his not working hard for our papers. And we cant ask him a lot to follow up our application... Andd all we ask of him is why we havent got the noa1 yet for 2 months now and we dont know what to say if we write to the service centers email to follow up our papers sorry to say but we are kinda stupid with this stuff even my bf dont know how...

Did you include form G-1145 with the petition? The one where you get e-mail notification when they recieve it? Has the cheque you sent with the petition been cashed? If not, I doubt it's even with the service centers and is likely still on your lawyers desk.

*** Thread moved from K-1 Process forum to the Case Progress subforum. ***

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Ok, first of all.. :time:

Do this by clicking on 'immigration timelines' on the top right of the page, and filling in your timeline. This will then give you an estimate of how long your processing time will be. You will have to put in the date of your NOA1 (February 25th). If you filed in February with the Vermont Service Centre you're likely looking at a 6 month wait before you hear anything. However, this can change. It may be quicker but most likely longer. Take time read through different posts on the forum and also..

:guides:

You will feel more prepared if you do some research on this website. There is lots of information, and people are happy to help as well, but definitely do the basic research about waiting times, service centres, your particular country's embassy etc.
