*** topic split from another member's ****

We need more information:

- is your household just you and your wife or do you have kids or other dependants (such as elderly parents, or kids with an ex)?

- Same for your brother, is it just him or does he have kids etc?

- Is your income from a permanent, long term job and did you supply a letter from your employer stating so?

It's ok to contact the senator, but there is nothing much he can do if you are inside processing time, which is sounds like you are.

So you don't actually have a job at this time, as you are in India?

Only a job that is current and ongoing and US based counts.

Where is your brother at this time? Is he currently working at his job, is the job US based, and how long has he had it?

Your senator cannot do anything for you at this time, as the embassy is waiting for YOU to respond.

You have been in India for 8 months. How have you been working 40 hours per week? How are you working full time?

You do understand that you must have current income for the I-864, right? Past income an future income does not count. Do you have a US job today where you are getting a current paycheck?
