Biometrics were done when my wife filed for her permanet residence. I notice in many posts regarding the lifting of conditiuons that people are waiting for biometric appointments. Is this because some folks missed this step or do we all have to do it again?

I thought the same as you, and the answer is yes you do go again I have just been myself.

You file the I-751 and wait for the NOA and the Bio appointment mine came at the same time but not every ones does but they should be pretty close in being sent out.

Yep and more gas money to get to the service center that is nowhere near wher you live lol.

We plan to be out of the country for a few months. I know we can file the forms while out of the country but what do we do about the biometric appointment? Is it possible to do this at a consulate or embassy?

I called US CIS and they said to keep rescheduling to "Next available saturday" untill we return and there is no ultimate deadline or limit for times of doing so, as long as it's mailed BEFORE apointment, but i should be aware of that it "delay may negatively affect the case"
