You have been stuck at the I-864 stage since September of 2010? Painfull.. You two need to sit down and have a plan and it needs to revolve around him making some income and not waiting for a signature from someone. His mother is in a nursing home and he has not visited you in two years and he is able bodied. He can work and bring in some money.

IMHO, I don't see why family and friends would help when an able-bodied man would rather visit the Phillipines for 3-4 months rather than go to work.

In the US, we have a saying - if you don't help yourself, why should others have to help you?

If bringing your family to the US is a priority for your husband, then he needs to come back to the US and get a job that will support his family when they come to the US. Your family can endure the separation because other families have done it or going through it now. Many of us have sick relatives too.

Teaching English as a Second Language is always an option for an expat. Granted you would make for money in Japan, HK, Twain, Korea, or Saudi but with enough hustle you can make good money anywhere. I understand his mom needs help but so does his wife and child.

Not easy for anyone involved.

Good Luck!!!
