Hi everyone!

I'm quiet confused here. I would like to know how many copies should I get for my NBI clearance? If I need 2 of them, should one of these copies have my maiden name only and the other with my married name?

You only need one NBI with AKA for any other names used (i.e. name when single). The embassy will also ask for a CEMAR. And I would suggest you get extra copies of your BC to bring with you to the States.

NO WORRIES. when you apply for nbi clearance all names will appear

for example

name: angelina jolie jones

husband name: john smith

(cant think of any other names)

your name in the clearance will appear as: JONES de SMITH, ANGELINA y JOLIE

all your names will appear. I had mine last week.

You will only need AKA if you have errors/corrections in your name (as shown in your NSO BC) or you have been married/widowed and you used the surname of your previous husband.

You will only need a Police Clearance if you have lived or worked in a foreign country for 12 months or more.

If you have never been outside the Philippines, there's no need to obtain a Police Clearance. The NBI Clearance will be enough.

NBI Clearance comes in 2 copies. You can give one to NVC and keep the "personal copy" to bring for the interview. It is valid for one year.

Try to go back on the 8th or 9th working day and see if they already have your clearance. I also had a "hit" but I was able to get my clearance on the 9th working day.

If its not possible, you can go ahead with your interview but you might get a 221g form for the NBI clearance. You will have to mail-in the NBI clearance (via 2GO), subject for consul's review then after that they will issue your visa. Expect a few days of delay.
