Hi everyone,

This might be just my nerves getting the best of me, but I wonder if it would be beneficial or even possible to send more documentation to USCIS now. Joan and I are at the 120 day mark post-NOA1 (October 15, 2012) and I know that the CSC is at about 180 days--2 months of agony to go. Here are my thoughts/concerns: we filed our I-129F after my second visit to the Philippines (we had been together for 8 months at that point). We included plenty of evidence--photos (including "the proposal"), receipts (including the receipt for Joan's ring), my letter to her parents and their reply, evidence of thousands of emails back and forth, etc. I went back to see her in December and we are now well over 11,000 emails. Would it help for me to send copies of photos and receipts from my December visit along with more email evidence or would that just slow things down more? Is it even possible to amend an application? For what it is worth, there is a large age difference--I am 51 and Joan is 22.

Salamat for all the help and advice...I read through the posts every few days....

I wouldn't try sending more info. Just save it for the interview. And don't worry about the age difference. Shouldn't be a problem in Manila.

As long as you sent enough evidence with the initial packet and you've got the finances covered for the interview then you should be okay. It's just the waiting that is so hard.

Its just nerves... relax. And age difference for sure is not a consideration with USCIS.

USCIS doesn't care about emails they only care about MEETING IN PERSON within the past 2 years so not sure why you want to send emails to USCIS as emails do not prove that you met in person. The embassy cares about evidence of an ongoing relationship - they would like to see a "sampling" of emails, chats and such.

You already sent photos of you two together and provided additional prove of meeting the two year requirement, sending in evidence of having met after you filed does nothing as that is only prove of meeting AFTER filing.

Thanks B_J!

Yes the waiting is so hard...all of you who have made it through the process inspire Joan and me every day. The original packet was pretty thick and the finances won't be a problem so I guess it is back to holding our breath and keeping our fingers crossed!

Yeah I thought like you also and I ended up not sending more info because others said it was a waste. My NOA2 was just approved today and I didn't include any photos, just the passport stamp and yahoo transcripts. I would just let it be, if you get an RFE I here it's only a couple weeks to approve after that.

Actually, they are at ~210 days now, and growing.

But yeah, just wait.

WoW! They approved your petition without any photos? This is a first that I have read of... cool!

Just because they approved the application without photos doesn't mean they won't ask for them at the interview, just be ready to present them during the interview. I only say this because they asked for our most recent pics together during my wife's interview seperate from the ones we turned in with the I-129f application.

Yes although they approved NOA2 with no photos I will have them at the interview. Although when I filed I tried proving both scenarios, one that I was there and met her but didn't have photos to back it up, and two that I can't go there right now which if you can prove you can't meet them for some reason then that is supposed to be ok also. Either way I have photos now so that part should be ok at the interview.

from what I've heard, it's extremely difficult to get a waiver for having met in person.

Any follow up information is unlikely to be matched up with your petition and may just cause confusion with your case (I know this from experience :( )

Proof of ongoing relationship is required at the interview, so by all means keep that in order and it can be used at that time.

All the best !

Mar 2011 - After 5mths denied for lost docs - Attempts to follow up failed. Mar 18 2012 - I-129F sent - No sign of NOA1 but they have banked the check...Jul 24 - Update - USCIS has located our file
Infopass Apt - they sorted through everything - our 2011 and 2012 file keep getting mixed up - getting us a Case# (still waiting) Dec- Infopass Appt- expecting to get a case # in about a week ..Still no Case number

Mar 2013 Infopass - advised file was in a box somewhere, and it would be quicker for us to refile. Life gets in the way... New petition submitted July 2014 .
