Pedantic. Clip and magazine have been interchangeable terms in common parlance.

amongst the uninformed, yes.

Have a magazine....

Now that is definitely a magazine that needs to be limited.

Well lets move pass this and look at what was stated. Has a magazine ban been upheld by the Supreme Court? As far as I am aware no. The california 10 round ban is still moving up through the courts (both CA and NYs predate Heller as far as I am aware).

In the decision by SCOTUS we know that commonly held firearms and their accessories are protected. Given that the majority of handguns have a standard capacity of between 11-19 rounds a ban of 11+ likely won't fly. Likewise rifles commonly have 10-30 rounds standard. I could see Scalia ruling that gimmicky magazines might not constitutional (think 100 rd drum) as they are not commonly owned.

Hunting rifles are usually limited to two or three rounds, as are shotguns, unless you remove the plug, or block that limits capacity, if your have a larger capacity magazine.

hunting rifles are typically 4-5 counting the one in the chamber. shotguns don't come with a plug, which is needed for migratory birds. if one hunts non-migratory birds, or don't use that shotgun for hunting, then most states don't require them to be plugged.

That's a change. Last shotgun I bought new was a Remington 870 came plugged. My hunting rifle only holds three rounds.* The game warden here used to check to make sure your rifle couldn't hold more than five rounds last time I went hunting.

ETA: Well, three plus one.

So, if you have a pistol that has 6 bullets, you will be ineffective in protecting your loved ones?

trust me when three armed Youth come through your front door, their ammo count will exceed 7 or even ten rounds.

I have a pump rifle what holds way more than that and my Lever 30-30 maybe holds 6? (never counted).

NJ had the three round limit I think.

Stupid gun laws were just one of the reasons I left there.

Um yeah because 3x7=21, I doubt any gun owner has only one clip or just seven bullets.
