Lol, there's nothing wrong with it, but because of my position as a minority, I have to tread on a different path. I wish I could let loose but then I would be stigmatized as an angry black person. So in order to keep myself in check, I don't resort to cussing or ranting how hot my wife is

You're black? :o

Seriously, it's fine to let loose on something you're passionate about. Color doesn't matter to most folks, but carrying yourself with a bit of class does. People can usually differentiate between passion and anger. I rarely use cuss words when posting, when I do, I'm usually joking. A person should be able to convey their thoughts without cussing.

Here is the definition or racism: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Racism. Like I said before there is a difference between preference and hatred. The guy in this article is racist: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_supremacist. It's that cut and dry. He's part of a hate group, not a dislike group. You can prefer to stay within your race, and there is nothing wrong with that. Most people prefer that. Just like I know there are several minorities that like to keep it within their own demographic, most for pride and heritage reasons, and they have no problem letting you know that. But here is what makes them not racist, they don't treat you with disdain. They won't go out of their way to find someone like them to serve them, or let you know all the things they don't like about you.

Clearly your example is a typical hate situation but how many of these people do you know or run into?

In my life I have only met one person that would fall into this category.

The part you wrote that made me chuckle was

<<<Just like I know there are several minorities that like to keep it within their own demographic>>>

only several? So most parents in the world would be just as happy if their children started families with people of a completely different race religion, ethnicity?

Now it's true if the new spouse has the right passport and can bring a nice trade-off, that helps in a lot of cases but that not an apple to apples comparison.

What I found interesting is the definition you offered of racism....and it kinda made the point I was getting at. Your definition claims simply believing that there ARE different races, is racism.

Racism is usually defined as views, practices and actions reflecting the belief that humanity is divided into distinct biological groups called races and that members of a certain race share certain attributes which make that group as a whole less desirable, more desirable, inferior or superior.[1][2][3]

While other definitions use the term race in their definition.

racism |ˈrāˌsizəm|

noun

the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, esp. so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races.

I would suggest that the vast majority of people here and abroad believe that different races ":generally" do have unique abilities talents, traits or even personality traits such as Athletics, academics, areas of creativity etc.

If you just take the typical "dancing" example. Does dancing come to white people as easily as it does to others?

I really need to find a way to put my pic in my avatar

I know you guys and gals wouldn't mind. But like you said class is key, and even when you get passionate, you still keep it classy. Ev has gone all out and still kept her composure.

Nothing like glossing right over the part of the definition you don't want to see Danno.

Speaking of liberals, I wonder where Steven is, by now he would have jumped in this knee deep...

I think he's building his own windmill in his backyard.

Don't make me laugh.

Because I call into question parts of the uncertain definition you jump to conclusions rather than deal with the point.

You didn't call into question parts of the definition, you completely ignored the entire second half of it.

I got the "and"

Again that is one example of a definition which is not definite.

What used to be commonly understood as "racist" was the belief that some races are "more human" or of more value.

Now even recognizing variation, makes one guilt of being in the Hitler camp.

recognizing a variation in the value of humanness as determined by race is racism. gah, idjit!

nothing is definitive. definitions are meaningless. hitler!

That's exactly what the part of the definition you chose to ignore, states.
