To be honest Canadian internet and phone companies are all scammers who should be lined up and shot... With paintballs. I don't condone killing them! Yeesh people I knew you were all thinkin' that before I added the end. :P I've had mine phone me I dunno how many times about cable. Dude, I don't want TV. Last two times I firmly, but politely stated that I do not want any kind of TV so could they please not call me about it. I mean, I'm hopefully moving in 5 months, if I didn't want it when I moved in last Nov, and I didn't want it when it was $10 a month, why the heck would I want it now? Heck they raised the rent so now I can't afford it!

Rant: having a married couple have to pay twice as much for everything because they live in two separate homes. At least I can fully support myself but we're certainly not saving or getting ahead.

Rant two: found out the ex-best friend has never bothered to send my mother a thank you note or letter. My mom was the officiant at her wedding. Because she cannot legally conduct weddings in this province she found a lady from the same religious society to be there. She had to pay her which she did out of the meager $200 she charged my friend. The fee would have barely covered the cost of the 10 hour drive each way from my mother's home. My mom also handed out drink tickets since the person who said they would do so never showed back up at the reception. This is not the minister's job! At this point I still held out hope but now I'm really done. I made sure she's at the same address so I'll be mailing her the amount I no longer owe her but she seems to think I should pay, again, for the dress, the dress itself, and a strongly worded note so that I don't literally flip out on her in public. The note shall also contain a warning for her sister since she is the one in a relationship with the man who stole money from my ex-best friend on her wedding day. What an awesome dude! He was the best man too.

I still feel bad because I was so strapped for cash after the wedding I didn't make a donation to the church, or give anyone anything special that helped.

I gave them all thank-yous, but that was it =\

I feel I still owe them all, but at LEAST the church.

I heard that most Minnesotans have a snow blower :o

We don't have a snow blower, we have a snow plow on ATV 4 wheeler.

But the snow banks on the each sides are so high, it is very hard to plow through them.

It is faster to just shovel the snow instead :P

I love snow but not a dump of 6-8 inches of snow overnight.. My hubby and I got up at 5am to shovel the driveway so that we could get to work.

Hate the slow horrible traffic.

Going to have few more inches of snow till the afternoon. Another round of shoveling to do after getting home at night.

I hope the winter will end soon, I want to start running outside for half-marathon training.

One of the things I love about living in townhouse now, no shoveling, not even my steps! As it was the plow had not been by to do our drive, or the side street it joins, or even the main road the side street joins. I test drove my wife's Ford Focus, to make sure it could get through the snow. It could but just barely, so I was going to escort drive along with her until she reached plowed roads this morning. Turns out the plows had finally reached the main road near our house, so the escort drive was pretty short. BTW I have a 4 wheel drive Durango, so this dumping hardly even slowed me down.

Apparently she doesn't even think she owes a thank you. Her wedding was in July. I sent out personalized thank you notes within the month. She wanted to do a general "here's a picture of us with thank you at the bottom".

Technically we have two homes, one of which is vacant, but I feel you completely. I feel like our money is just flying out the window right now.

My mother still has (2) of my cards sitting on her counter.

We married almost 2.5 years ago.

One of those cards......... IS FOR THE PERSON ACROSS THE STREET!

I'm not seeing it in all honesty, you may be right and it's probably a time thing. Bad manners and attitudes are the single biggest thing that I rant about. From stuff as little as not holding a door open for someone to completely belittling someone. There's enough negative ####### in the world and we don't need any more. Need to add more positives.

Anyway, while I would love to stick around as you suggest, I have to go to that oft-ranted about place: Work.

Though I will end with one bit of good news (a reversal of sorts). That friend of mine hasn't just completely ignored me regarding being an Usher - we're looking at times we can get together to do it now. So that's been sorted out. Now if only the end of the month would come along.

There ya go lol. That's the ranting spirit here........I hope you get your usher situation straightened out and in order soon.........

Mines an import. Did I even tell you my middle name was snow?

I actually pay attention on where a product is made. my 2 recent purchased items. Husky screw driver set, made in USA. Rubbermaid Tupperware set, made in USA.

New rant: Read the opening post, the (appropriate) incredulous early response from an experienced member (you'll see the double-digit bonuses), the whining from the newbies, and my response (post #44, if it survives).

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/417544-just-over-7-months-and-have-finally-received-our-noa2-can-somebody-clarify-for-me-what-happens-next/

Isn't my rant a repeat of what someone had mentioned here earlier, huh man?

I appreciate the "oldies" that still hang around the VJ forums, answering questions, sharing the knowledge.

I like the straight forward, no sugar coating talk, really give a reality check of one's situation.

I also hate the topics of "Oh xxxxxxxx, What next? What is the next step?".

These are the same topics that pop up day in day out.

This is a self-help immigration forum, we all should help each other blah blah.., here are the rainbows, roses, hug and kisses for you ...etc

But Please, one should also do their own homework about their own immigration journey.

Read the guides, read the forms instructions (as many times as possible).

Search the forums for past similar posts too. Google is your friend.

Don't expect people to spoon feed you the steps or answers one by one.

I am sure your boss doesn't do that for you at work.

Ultimately, you are the one standing at the US Consulate Window / USCIS office for your own interview, not the anonymous people on the internet.

Be prepared and responsible for your own immigration.

I know I did for my own immigration journey.

I'm afraid of my husband's future interview.

One, he's terrible with numbers.

If he was asked my age, he probably couldn't answer it.

Two, I'm fairly certain he's smart a$$ enough to consider responding like this:

"Why do you want to come to the US"

"I don't"

Tiff answered my age question wrong. The question was "How old was Steve when you guys met?" ( I was 32)

She looked confused for about 5 seconds. looked at the sky....then said "I don't know"

lol

My husband's cheeky answer would be 'younger than me'
