your best friend is 19 years old?

My sister. And let me just say that I never even asked her to be my moh. She just assumed she would be, so she picked all the ####### she liked and now that I have my own opinions about my own wedding, she isn't happy.

She's abusive and mean, and the great thing is that, not only does my mother put up with it, but she feeds her emotional ammo.

I have a messed-up family.

I love a guy who looks like he could be on Criminal Minds as either an agent or a killer.

welcome to the boat. My father is jealous of his own son............it bothers him greatly that his son outdid him in life.

I think it bothers my mother that I'm literally doing everything I can to not end up like her (though she is a wonderful Mother...) and I think my sister hates me and is insecure around my other bridesmaids. They're my "best friends" but I've not even heard from them for weeks. This again goes back to the ignoring of texts and calls but being on fb with each other etc.

Someone just let me have my day. I just want one day to be pretty and be with my husband and dance and eat and love my families and be happy. Then I'll leave you alone. One day is not too much to ask from normal people, but I'm dealing with abusive and immature cockmongers.

I love a guy who looks like he could be on Criminal Minds as either an agent or a killer.

yea unfortunately, I really do know how you feel. I don't talk to a lot of my family. My own sister with her husband tried to defraud me. I was in disbelief. This is a sister that I basically put through college.....

My wife's family is much better. I'm closer to them than my own.

I stuffed myself at dinner again.......

I have a feeling this will be me.

I think it kinda helped me that I was basically left to fend for my own from age 10. It made me mentally tougher, it's hard to explain. But it carried me through life. But I know that I often feel distant. Sometimes full of self-pity. I think that's why I didn't get married till I was almost 40.

Eff that sucks.

I'm a bit different but I count myself incredibly lucky to have found a man that loves me for me.

Looking back, I should have married Tiff much sooner. But I'm just glad that I have a precious family now. And also gained a great extended family.

And I'm happy for you. Because I sure know what that feeling is like.

Rant: Waitresses that try to sneak giving you decaf because they ran out of regular coffee.
Related rant: Drinking coffee (or cola) without caffeine is like eating potato chips with no salt. What's the point, huh man?
or the sludge left at the bottom of the 3 hr old pot....
Customer [spitting out mouthful of coffee]: Waiter! This coffee tastes like MUD!"

Waiter: It should, sir; it was ground this morning.

In Canada a full sized bed is often called a double. But most stores sell "full" sized sheets. When I worked at Zellers I often had to explain that full and double were the same.
I've called them double, too, si man, eh.
I just wish they were universally sized. A flat sheet from one set and manufacturer may properly reach the sides of a bed but for another may not.
This may be a function of whether they have "deep pockets" or not, which leads to Rant #1D: All bedsheets, without exception, need to have deep pockets, si man.

I made that coffee myself
A construction worker brought his lunch to work every day. Each day at noon, he would peer inside his lunchbox expectantly, but his face would always fall and he would say, "Nertz! Peanut butter again."

This went on for several weeks, when finally a buddy asked him, "Look -- if you're so sick of peanut butter, why don't you ask your wife to make you something different for a change?"

"Oh, I'm not married," the worker said. "I make these at home every morning myself!"

These are the times that I wish I looked like a goth devil worshiper
A middle-aged businessman sat down on a bench at the bus stop, next to a young punk-rock type with copious piercings and tattoos and a purple/green/yellow mohawk. The punker noticed the businessman giving him sidelong glances and said, confrontationally, "What are YOU looking at, old man?"

"Well," said the businessman, "about 20 years ago, I got really drunk and had sex with a parrot, and I was wondering if you were my son."
