3 hrs and 38 minutes ago, I started "wp wiper" on my netbook to clear the hard drive. it estimated time remaining at 11 hrs and change.....

now, 3:38 hrs later. The hard drive is 7 % wiped out with an estimated 17 hrs 50 minutes remaining....

####### is this thing doing? putting more ####### on the drive?

Why don't you just F-disk on it? Or slave the hard drive to another computer and do a low level format?

Silly people!

ive been having issues with bandwidth usage since the beginning of the year

we had the highest plan avail last year with 250g total usage

last billing period we missed the cap by .74gigs

nother has changed in our internet habits so we SHOULD be using around 175 to 200

rogers offered an unlimited option

exact words "add unlimited usage to any existing plan for $30/mo"

i was fed up with monitoring and have a twenty percent discount so yesterday i said ef it and called to add

sales guy says i cant add it to my plan because they dont offer it any longer and that i had to pay more for their faster plan or pay less for their slower plan

we argue for five minutes and i ask to speak to a supervisor

he sends me to customer svc

csr says i do NOT have to change my plan.

i just have to exchange my router which i rent so no big deal.

exchange it last night.

tonight i just feel uneasy about it all.

husband speed tests and im getting speeds indicitive of the $150 insanely stupid expensive plan

i call and ask lady to read plan info

indeed they switched me w o my approval to the higher plan

i am on the phone for over twenty mins w this lady trying to force her to figure it our

eventually i end up lowering the plan and ask to file a complaint with a manager

get manager on phone and tell her their unlimited internet is falsly advertised

it is not in fact "addable" to ANY plan because it is infact a different plan with a different plan in their system.

it says i can add it to any existing plan and my plan exists

if it didnt exist then i wouldnt have it

(i think i forgot to clarify im on a no longer sold plan from one yr ago)

manager tells me that they didnt not falsly advertis anything and its my job to call and see if its vailable for me.

she says they cant say"excludes this and this and this"

i said im not watching a commercial im looking at the site and it doesnt say restrictions apply

she says they dont have to list anything on anything and fine print isnt required

i tell her that i didnt call to listen to her excuses or opinions i just called to register a complaint

she says i dont have a valid complaint but she will try to bring it up in the next board meeting

what. the. hell.

im so livid right now.

illbe filing a written complaint.

i view th site in pc format on a vita.

its just the touch screen keyboard typing thats sloooow

Wow man....This is the "best ever legitimate rant" in the history of "The Rant"

And I think you broke Cary's record for "the longest rant".

It also qualifies as "the most difficult to produce" since its typed on a what? a vita? (whadahelisdat?)

You boot into DOS and use the command prompt to initiate a disk wipe. Same as the low level format but you don't have to pull the hard disc to do it. Once you delete the primary partition on any given hard drive it is as good as a paper weight and ready for another clean install.

Always do your re-installs with the NTFS file system as it is more secure.

I wish I had known sooner. Someone in my office suggested this DOD approved #######......Active@killdisk. If it goes any slower, it'd be going backwards.....

ergo removing the "Culture shock" value out of the thread.........

The moderation around here needs a bit of...rejuvenation.

I love a guy who looks like he could be on Criminal Minds as either an agent or a killer.

It goes so slow because it is writeing binary code over and over and over on the hard drive so that any information on the drive is literally not recoverable. EVER!! Hence the DOD approval.

this is not a hit at your intelligence

Yes it is!

dude is f disk even available on windows 7?

Hello......Kirk to KDH........ it's a NETBOOK.

That is why good boys and girls that have Netbooks buy an external DVD-ROM for situations like this. How do you plan on reinstalling the OS without being able to use the disc? You aren't going to have the OS recover partition anymore with the program you are wiping the disc with.
