rant: my MIL just came in to tell (shout at) me that it's drizzling and to go take my clothes off the clothesline... in order to get to the clothesline, I have to climb four flights of stairs in the dark (the electric wiring in the stairwell is #######). It is almost 11 PM and I'm feeling lazy/tired, so I told her I didn't care, I would deal with it tomorrow. She then continued to argue with me for five minutes about how it was going to smell bad, and I would've wasted my time washing it earlier, to go get it, blah blah. LET ME BE LAZY. IT IS MY CLOTHING TO WASH AS I PLEASE, THANK YOU.

Strip down to your skivvies, go get drenched on the roof in rain and cool off while retrieving your clothes. 2 birds with 1 stone.

I think we should take turns following Novembro from thread to thread, and call her a "wacko" in every thread.....

I'm okay with this. Better to embrace it than ignore it, eh?

Rant: spending three hours playing Skyrim and feeling like I accomplished nothing in the game.

I love a guy who looks like he could be on Criminal Minds as either an agent or a killer.

rant:

My wife asking to make a request.

Mrs: Honeeeey

Mr: Yes hon

Mrs: Honnnneeeeeeey

Mr: (under breath: #######) Yes, my love

Mrs: Nothing

Mr: (under breath: ####### ####### here it comes) What is it hon?

Mrs: Can I make a request?

Mr: Of course you can honey.

Mrs: Will you promise not to get upset?

Mr: What kind of request is this?

Mrs: Please promise not to get upset, honeeeey.

Mr: Ok I won't get upset.

Mrs: Please honeeeey, promise me you won't get upset.

Mr: I promise I won't get upset. What gets me upset is this long line of questioning before asking me a question.

Mrs: Will you say yes?

Mr: How can I know if I'll say yes until you ask me?

Mrs: Promise me you'll say yes.

Mr: (I've played this game before, there are rules) OK I'll say yes, but I don't know if I'll say yes to your request until you ask it. (see I'm smart now)

Mrs: But what if you get upset?

Mr: What gets me upset is a million questions about asking me a question.

Mrs: Its not a question, its a request.

Mr: <sighs> Please just ask me

Mrs: But I'm shy

Mr: Honey, I'm your husband, there's nothing you can't ask or request from me.

Mrs: Yes there is

Mr: Honey whats your request

Mrs: You know at work today I got a compliment

Mr: You're trying to distract me and not ask your request again

Mrs: Well I'm shy

Mr: Honey whats your request?

Mrs: Never mind you'll get upset.

Honey I've already promised not to get upset.

Mrs: But I know you will

Mr: (trying not to get upset about the not getting upset game to a request) What gets me upset is the big build up to a request for a request you then never make.

Mrs: Kiss me

Mr: (kissing wife)

Mrs: what should we have for dinner tomorrow?

Mr: what was your request honey

Mrs: never mind. I'm too shy.

Mr: (inside his head GRRRR not again)

Repeat this same scenario a few times over the evening or even next few days.

Mrs: Honeeey, can I make a request?

Mr: I promise not to get upset (getting smarter and trying to shorten the loop)

Mrs: But I know you'll get upset

Mr: The only thing that makes me upset is this constant request to make a request and then not making the request. I'm really feeling like the ax is going to drop on my head any second.

Continuously repeated promises of not getting upset at the request. A couple more attempts to get Mr to say yes to unknown request before its asked. And finally......

Mrs: Can I get a new pair of shoes?

Mr: Yes, and you asked me that two weeks ago.

Mrs: No I didn't, that was for new shirts.

Mr: That was last week, two weeks ago was new shoes to wear at your new job.

Mrs: I don't remember that.

Mr: I said Sketchers, and you smiled and laughed because I know you always want Sketchers

Mrs: hehehehe OK I forgot I asked.

Mr: Must be why you didn't ask to go to the Mall of America last weekend. I wondered about that

Mrs: Thank you honey

Mr: thank you for finally asking. I don't have to worry about the ax hitting my head now. Can you get me some aspirin please.

Rant - I think it is horrible when someone marries an immigrant and then doesn't learn their spouses native language so that they can make sure the children are raised bilingual. In my opinion it is the USC responsibility to learn their spouse's native language so that the child can be raised in a bilingual environment.

Just saying.

Learn it!!

there's no dryer here I have to use the clothes line... that'll take at least six or so hours to dry, on the off chance that it doesn't start raining and I have to dash upstairs to take all the clothes off the line and drape them around the house. Should doing the laundry be this hard?
