So hubs is sick but won't go see a Dr because of the high deductible ppo he has. Which makes me worry about when I move. Not only do I have to worry about finding a doctor, I also get a yearly exam that includes a pap. I refuse to not get one yearly. My mother had cervical cancer and I had to have procedures done when I was younger to prevent it myself. While I think the HSA is a great idea the thought of paying $1500 for a yearly exam seems asinine?

#### american "healthcare". I read the reforms and I agree with most of it.

He tried to order them online but there was a weird address issue. He moved 3 times last year and his physical address for most of 2011 was in Guam but in Nov he moved to Colorado while he was on leave but was still paid until Jan? I'm not sure if he needs that Jan stuff for his taxes for 2012 and he can't connect to his old USAF email anymore. So he's not sure about the address for 2011 taxes. I wonder if he remembered to do them? I'm sure he did.... Ya know. I'm not going to worry. He's a grown man and can deal with his stuff. I have to get my taxes done but I need his income from 2012 which annoying enough for the I-864 doesn't reflect his yearly income.

I've never managed to get a transcript from the online system. I mailed the application for it once, thinking it was the most reliable method, and never got a tax transcript. Faxing in the request worked well though.

I don't understand why it would cost 1500 for your yearly exam?

Planned parenthood does cheap pap smears. http://www.plannedparenthood.org/health-center/centerDetails.asp?f=2487&a=90210&v=details#!service=womens-health

This one in Colorado charges between $115-170. You can sometimes pay that out of pocket to use towards your deductible.

I love to dance. Apparently hubs can't do it. :( I'm still getting fat. Too much computer time. I want to move!

Anyone can dance, they just need enough drinks in them to get the guts to do it. It seems strange today that many young people do not dance. I've gone to bars with a great band, and suddenly all these guys will pile onto the dance floor and just stare at the band. They act like they're at a concert or something. Wake up its just a bar band! Get your butt out of the way or shake it damnit.

My wife wants me to take her to a traditional disco with the disco ball and lights. I don't know of any of those in our city. I did take her to a place with a DJ a couple weeks ago, but it didn't have the lights she wanted. :bonk: I honestly think live bands have replaced all the old dance to a DJ places. I know of one other place that has a DJ, but again the lights and disco ball is missing. Heck back in the late 70's and early 80's you couldn't hardly find a place that didn't have those. Now I'm scratching my brain and coming up empty. :(

Why can't you order his tax transcripts online on his behalf?

I know my spouse SSN, so I did that online myself without him

Sounds like he opted for one of those major medical high deductible plans. You can put money aside tax free to pay for your medical costs, I think its like $5000 per year, and it stays your money unless you go to the doctor, then you draw on that money to pay for it. The idea being you'll shop for the best prices. I think for most people its more like avoid going to doctor because they're afraid to spend it unless something major happens. Most plans have raised the deductibles now days. It really kind of sucks how expensive medical care has gotten. Then instead of having some real reforms that will reduce costs, the last change they made is to force everyone to have medical insurance, and increased costs. Damn medical companies have too much political pull in this country.

They only send them to the address that you filed with that year, so if you've moved you can't order them online.

I couldn't believe how much more my Anthem cost this year. I almost fainted and I told my mother not to bother renewing it. I haven't been to the doctor in maybe 2 years? Don't judge because I poor, but we have to refile for medicaid when I get back. The income limits are higher in CT than in other states. I don't know what we will do about my husband's health insurance. We might not be able to afford these new higher premiums. I hate Obamacare. HATE HATE HATE. I hate using medicaid.

Why do you hate Obamacare? Unless you're trying to go without insurance, its affect it pretty small on you. If you don't have insurance through work, and need to buy on the private market, its probably a good thing. So far, despite all the claims it was going to make insurance crazy in price, our health insurance premiums at work have gone up a smaller percentage than they had before it was passed. The one place I see its going to hurt, is medical device manufacturers are moving more work out of the country to avoid the extra tax on those. Unfortunately every attempt to insert rules to reduce medical costs were stripped from the law because of opposition from those with hands in the medical companies' pockets.

I'd have no problem with my husband going without health insurance for a few years. For people who don't go to the doctor regularly it makes more sense to save up money for emergency affairs. I know quite a few people in their 20s who do this.

I have so many problems with it just from a libertarian stand point, but I'll suck it up as long as we don't get socialized health care. I'm giving up on life if that happens.

Hey now, think about this... I pay marginally higher taxes than the average american. I make $13/hr, get paid for 40hrs/week and come home with $920/2 weeks. I do not pay a dime for health care. In Alberta, there are no provincial premiums. It doesn't cover dental or vision (minor children eye exams are included) but I can see any doctor I want except I generally get referred to a specialist, go to any hospital or walk in clinic, even outside the province, and I'm covered for anything and everything. I would never have to pay if I had cancer, I didn't pay to have my child and I needed a c-section, I don't have to pay if I break something. Doctors here still drive the nicest cars (well maybe dentists do... There's one with a Ferrari) so they're not hard done by. Lol. In BC they also have services you can pay for if you want it quicker like an MRI.

I don't understand why people do not want socialized health care? In the UK you don't pay for prescriptions either. In Sweden, mothers have more rights than anywhere else in the world. I just don't get why people WANT to have all this mess and confusion etc with health care.

I read this and besides the penalties for not having health care... I'm not sure what's so bad? http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/2012/06/update-on-health-care-reform/index.htm
